A Joust Tournament is pencilled in at GTG Games for January the 22nd - Weather permitting.

All of the details can be found at the FB link but I'll paste them here just for ease. Note that the event emphasises local play but we are starting to attract players from around the Midlands and elsewhere!

Ye Blurb.

The battle for Westeros continues. House Baratheon, championed by Kev Smith marched to victory in the 'Winter Is Coming' campaign.

Held in honor of the current champion. A Joust Tournament will take place in the sacred place of combat, GTG Games....

AGOT is proving to be THE game of choice at GTG. This next tournament (Weather permitting) will be a straight through Joust Event run with a Swiss Pairing.

Joust is becoming very popular now that many more Chapters and Faction Boxes are available. Furthermore, we have the DEFENDERS OF THE NORTH ARC and ON DANGEROUS GROUND chapter available from the first week on Janaury. Why not incorporate these cards into your build!

There is no time for politics in a joust, build your deck to overwhelm your opponents. Expect no quarter.

Entry is £5 per person and we will be giving the Champion a GAME OF THRONES BOARDGAME (RRP £50) as their prize.

We will also be offering a chapter pack of choice (from available stock or future expansion) as a random prize to the players who stay the field.

As a special event prize if the current champion retains his title we will SLEEVE HIS DECK in Pro Matte Deck Protectors free of charge.

NOTE: All Members (monthly and quarterly) will pay only £3 entry.

We have top-loaded the first prize to reflect the brutal conflict that AGOT LCG represents. We hope this will sit well with our players, please let us know if you would rather have a smaller 1st prize and the pot spread thinner (*******).

2nd NOTE: Should the LANNISTER FACTION BOX arrive it will NOT be eligable to be used in the event. We will be bringing this into our sets for the following Tournament.

The attendance for our events has been getting stronger and stronger each month. Last months event had 17 players brave the snow to compete.

See you all there.

I would just like to confirm what time the event will be and approximately until?

I ask as my usual drivers are both out of town and I would need to get the train up, so need to check on times.

A part of me hopes I will still be the only Lannister player there - They can be popular once LOTR is legal for your future events ;)

It will be 5 rounds of Joust, swiss pairings. Starting at 12 so we should be done by 6pm unless every single round goes to time and even then it wont be much over.

LOTR will be fully incorporated into the tournament after. We want to ensure all of our players have time to both aquire the box and of course get used to the new cards.

We will be advertising it both on our Facebook and this forum for all those peeps happy to travel to us.

A side note. I contacted FFG about the state of OP in the UK and I've received a positive reply (albeit with nothing concrete) about the shape of things to come with OP. We are pushing for a UK Nationals to be held and naturally we want to be involved with it. If I get any more news I'll report it here.

Note that ON DANGEROUS GROUND is also excluded from the current event. Again, this is fine for the next.

WRONG! I meant WHERE LOYALTY LIES can't be used. ODG is fine. Blame Arrdet for this.

If you want to pick up LIONS OF THE ROCK from us on the day let me know and I'll put one aside. We had them arrive today happy.gif

Tourney for the Hand is only a week away. Quick reminder to make sure everyone read the notes at the bottom of the events page;

Lions of the Rock and Where Loyalty Lies will not be legal for this event.
In addition to all bans, restrictions and errata in the most recent FAQ Ghaston Grey has 'limit once per phase' added to it's ability.

This looks like this is going to be our biggest Thrones tourney yet with 20+ people expected.

We had a 24 player turnout and the whole event went smoothly. A very interesting spread of decks and we will post a Battle Report later. The Greyjoy Choke Deck came out on top and this same build has been very consistent.

No Lion of the Rock or Where Loyalty Lies cards were allowed this time around so we are sure that the story will change for our Kingsmoot in February.

15 power... turn 1
