HELP!!

I recently bought the vanilla Descent game and currently I have no expansions. My wife and I have been playing with me as Overlord and she with two heroes. However, it seems that only two heroes have a difficult time with the standard quests. Receiving only two threat a turn isn't a big drawback as it takes the heroes twice as long to kill the monsters and reduced monster HP doesn't seem to matter as most are one-shotted at the highest difficulty. I am asking the community for advice, house rules, or suggestions to help balance the game for two heroes!

You could always allow her to use 4 heros. I have done this occassionally, I even ran OL and 1 Hero. I still won as OL... it was intense action.

The game is definately harder for just 2 hero's but then again, if it were the real world it would be harder for 2 people also rather than 4.

If she is comfortable with it, have her run 4 Heroes definitely.

I would suggest removing 1 monster by room and by spawn... That will do the trick far more than the lessened stats cards.

The real limitation of playing with less than 4 character is the missing actions avaliable regarding the same number of action required...

Having her run 3 heroes is also an option; many people seem to think that most of the base game quests are more balanced with 3 than 4.

The number of heroes definitely has a big impact on the difficulty.

If your wife would really like to play only two heroes, have the OL draw only one card per turn instead of two. However, the best option, as pointed out, is to use 3 or 4 heroes.

If she just wants to play with 2 heroes. Give her boggs the rat to help with line of site. (don't count this as one of her heroes skills). Also when a chest allows her to draw a treasure let her draw 4 and keep two. Also let her distribute how any way she wants too. Having to waste MPs passing an item when you only have two heroes is rough.

These things will help a little but still the best advice is play with 3 heroes.
