I have been looking at the Dust Premium range and am very tempted to take the plunge!
I must admit I'm not keen on the figures and can do better myself but the vehicles however do look very nice!
What do you think ?

I've seen loads of people saying how good they are on various forums and have yet to see a bad word about them and as the internet is full of moaners, they must be brilliant.
I think the premium versions look awesome, but they play exactly the same. For the money, I would rather have three times as many regular units to play with.

I agree i menaged to grab the premium core set in a very good price, but the normal one is nt worth the effort. You can have a cheap game and a lot of fun witch paintings, also usually the default camo is winter and i find it a problem. If you know sth about painting minis and have fun while doing it i would keep the bucks for sth else.
Yes the look great and are very resilient, but the for the price I would rather get more models.
Wise words all!!
I guess its the magpie effect of seeing something shiny and thinking oooooooooo.
I can also see the trap and knowing myself if i started on this route then everything would have to end up premium (vehicles anyway)
I guess its the lazy git in me thinking what the hell, lets just chuck some $$$ and done.
I like the premiums myself. They are painted better than I could do myself and I don't think the cost is too bad. It is on the high side but so is the quality. To each their own though.

I have bought everything released to date plus some duplicates in both the painted Deluxe and non-painted. I have decided to quit buying the non-painted and just stick with the Deluxe. I really like the paint job of the Deluxe, it is great having professional painted miniatures. Plus I will continue to buy releases from Dust. Not a fan of painting, I rather play. Now if I could paint like some of the people on here, I would probably continue to paint.
But that is what's great about this game....you have choices on your purchases. At game night we have all three, unpainted, painted and deluxe.
You could go with premium vehicles, and paint your infantry, or go all premium, or no premium, or even no painting on anything. It comes down to what you think is worth the cost in both money and time.
I like to paint my models, and have the time to do so, so the premium models, even with the quality they've been giving us, are not worth it to me. I've gotten a couple of the premium character figures, and plan to repaint them to match the rest of my army.
For people without enough time, but who still appreciate having a fully painted army, the premium models are not bad with the quality they present.
For people who hate painting, but like having a painted army, the premium models are a nice alternative to buying the figures and then waiting while someone else paints them for you.
It comes down to standard consumer choices: is what they represent worth it for your money and time? If yes, go for it and have fun, If no, have at the regular figures and build a bigger army for less money, but more time if you paint them yourself.
More wise words and thank you for your input.
If i collected no other game system then I wouldint have a problem spending money on premium unless the paint jobs are crud ?
But being a wargammer to stick to one system, well its just not the done thing
you have to have a lead/plastic pile and 20 things all on the go with more on the back burner!
New years resolution : Focus on the games systems im honestly going to play and skip the rest.
I was tempted to get a premium walker to see what the quality was like and then have something to go buy as a painting guide, maybe i'll do that.
But yes your all right, the hobby allows us to do just what we want, the beauty of it I guess.
Happy new year all !
