dragon slayer, monk and psionic wand clarification.

By xarthos, in Talisman Rules Questions

Can the dragon slayer move to the crown of command or any other space in the inner region if a dragon manages to land there?

for a theoretical monk who has no items and has gained 8 strength and 7 craft, so he has a combat strength and craft of 10. fighting a wild boar, he would be strenght 13, not 20?

similarly if a 10 wizard who has 2s/5c and has gained 0s/5c and has the psionic wand (yor may use your craft instead of your strength during battle). The wizard would fight at strength 10, not 5?

my play group has been having issues with rules definitions and inconsistencies have started appearing in our ruling, hoping someone here will be able to clear these questions up for us.

thank you.

this issues are that a player can use transferance to get onto the crown, so it is possible for the dragon slayer to move to another players failed kill on their way to the crown.

the monk/warhorse effects have been explained in the rulebook as base craft only as we read it.

however it was then argued that since the monk and horse only get to add the base value, that same ruling should apply to all effects, making the psionic wand only use the characters base craft.

Happy New Year!

1. There is no way this could happen. Enemies can never appear in the normal Inner Region or the Dragon Realm, and cards drawn in the Dragon Tower are always discarded once resolved, so there would never be a failed kill.

2. Yes, he adds his Craft value, i.e. his base Craft.

3. Yes, he uses his total Craft instead of his total Strength. You are not adding anything with the Psionic Wand, but replacing one attribute with another.

(I've combined your posts, since they were related).

thank you for clarification and happy new year.
