Dark Warden Storm Angels lol

By computertrucker, in Deathwatch

So I picked up deathwatch 2 weeks ago. It looks like its going to be a fun system. However I have to say after reading the background of theStorm Wardens I laughed my butt off. Their recruiting world with the tribal world etc. for us old timers in the 40k universe you might remember the original deathwing story that came with the old deathwing box set expansion for space hulk. I went and dug out my old box set and re read it. It's almost as if they copy pasted it. Even The part of the great race. I found it humorous that over the years that the dark angels have changed the way they have and now a new chapter emerges that uses the original stories that have been discarded over the years.

Not sure if anyone else has brought this up before. Figured I would for those people that didn't play 40k like 20 years ago

It seems rather logical to me. FFG seems happy to perform a bit of legacy fan service. They've even got something in the Achilus Assault supplement that sounds rather like the short unmentionable race.

Wasn't there some question as to who the Storm Warden split off from? Perhaps we have the answer here.

Doubtful. The Dark Angels tend to keep track of their successor chapters. They work together to hunt the Fallen.

Fanon and fluff preferences point to the White Scars more than anyone else anyway.

I thought the "race somewhere and fight/kill things" thing was common to several Chapters, including the Blood Angels?

Oh I just noticed that the chart on page 37 of First Founding confirms that the Storm Lords are a White Scars successor chapter.

Storm Lords aren't Storm Wardens though ;)
