giving our announcement a little bump. with the dc meta growing and a few out of town guests already planning to come, this should be a lot of fun and help get ready for regionals season.

I'm in for cannon fodder! First round by to someone!

I'm hoping to make it (still not sure), and sounds like at least another player from NYC will as well. I'm going to talk to a few people at our weekly (Thurs) meet up, and see if I can encourage a few more to attend.

I wouldn't expect a large NYC contingent, but maybe a few.

It's great to see we'll get some New Yorkers come down! We were pretty intentional to include a melee event this time since a lot of people said they wanted that when Black Friday happened. I hope some of you Maple-Leafer melee-players will plan to come down. gran_risa.gif

At this point Lions of the Rock and Where Loyalty Lies (4th pack) will be legal for the tournament. As the date nears and we have a better idea about general availability of Trial by Combat (5th pack), we will announce if that will be tournament-legal.

Take all of this with a grain of salt though, since I am still not sure whether I will be able to make it myself.

It's now looking like we will have 3-5 NYC players coming down. How many local players are expected?

It looks like we will have 3 from PA, and anywhere from 8-12 DCers. Looks like we should have around 15-20 with the NY players, then. Good showing so far. happy.gif

to the top with you mr. thread. be strong. be proud. just be. at the top.

Update: The latest chapter pack, Trial by Combat, will NOT be legal for the tournament.

Due to interest and the anticipated turnout, we are excited to announce that the registration for the melee event on Sunday will be discounted to $10 if you register at the Joust event on Saturday!

Have fun preparing for the Battle of Chesapeake Bay, and we'll see you in DC in a couple weeks!

Do we have more info on prizes and/or what the entry fee goes toward? Are proxies allowed? some more detailed info would be great.

The tournament will follow the official FFG rules found on the support page here . Restricted and banned cards follow the latest FAQ . All sets are legal through the 4th chapter pack of A Tale of Champions, Where Loyalty Lies; Lions of the Rock is legal. This means that proxies are not legal and you need to sleeve your cards. Sleeves are available at the venue.

We've got great prizes for each event. Everyone will receive a set of 15 custom black and gold power tokens commemorating the event, emblazoned with the Kingsguard sigil. Additional sets will be available for purchase (or additional tokens if you want it for North agendas). Top four will receive the awesome FFG AGoT art sleeves, and first and second place will get gift cards to our host store, which is very well stocked in all the best board games, puzzles, and also card game accessories. There will also be a Sansa prize. In addition to other prizes that we're still working out. Most likely some AGoT memorabilia (book box set, posters, etc.) that we'll raffle off.

the sansa, top 4 and 1st and 2nd place prizes are for both joust and melee. the raffle prizes are shaping up to be pretty cool too.

whats a sansa prize and what time do things kick off on saturday.

I think you get 1 evening, alone, with Sansa. She may let you hit her a few times if you're lucky.

The Sansa Prize is a prize to the person in dead last.

Shouldn't the last place prize be called the Eddard Prize? Dude was a total noob and got eliminated way early.

Well in order to qualify for the Sansa prize, you have to play in all the rounds. Eddard totally dropped after round 1. :P

What is the prize for Sansa prize? If it's Trial by Combat pack, I'll go for it.=)

It actually IS the Trial by Combat pack. So if you want it, you can plan on getting last place... gui%C3%B1o.gif

Yay. But it will be pretty hard. In that case I have to build a deck which doesn't look bad, but also doesn't allow me to win even if I play my best (assuming I'm not going to rely on "concede on first turn" technique=). 'Cause I have a feeling that I can end up being at something like 1-3 or 2-2 in the end, which wouldn't be enough to get Sansa.=/
