Navigators and Psykers - How the Two Can Mix

By venkelos, in Rogue Trader Gamemasters

So, a quick couple of silly questions:

  1. In RPG, can Navigators be psykers? I know that, in game aspects, they are treated as such, in regards to gear that affects them, and such, but in fluff, such as 40K Wiki, it says that they never become full psykers (I assume it's because both parents have to be Navigators, and psyker is probably also a recessive gene), but they could get it as a result of non-Navigator mutation (Wyrd). I don't know if such is possible here, regardless of its cheese factor, and how unnecessary it is.
  2. In Inquisitors Handbook, in the Battlefleet background, it describes one of the uses for psykers born among the Void Born is to assist the Navigator in their journeys. How is this to be reflected? While it could be cool to have some variant of Corpus Conversion (that I don't believe exists), which would allow the psyker to "use himself up" to boost the Navigator's strength, I don't know how that would work, or if some already existing divinatory power would be great there. Curious if anyone else has thoughts.

Okay, that's all for now. Thanks in advance, and have a good one.

1- Take a loot at the errata:

Question: Since a Navigator is a psyker, but does not possess
a Psy Rating, can he gain a Psy Rating through the Wyrdling
mutation.
Answer: No. Navigators have their own mutation chart, and
should never roll on the mutation chart on page 369 of the
Rogue Trader core rulebook. Even if they gain a mutation
through accumulating Corruption Points, they should roll on
the Navigator Mutations chart on page 182.

if you ask me, no they cant be psykers.

how ever there are allways the dark goods that can help with that problem is there not? sorcery sould be possible for a navigator if he can find a way to learn it. demonio.gif
