Couple days ago we playd a game with Lee as our Pilot, we were outnumbered and our Hangar was damaged. Lee was in Sickbay by that time so one of the playes activated a Command location and lunched two vipers and Lee could jump in and shoot right away. This happend to be very popular in our meta and we started to call it as TELEPORTATION. Basicly always when he was in Sickbay we just lunched some vipers so he could teleport and be safe. You can even save EO on him. Then we realized that he actualy never needs a Hangar deck to lunch himself, he just goes to Command and lunches 2 Vipers and Teleport himself. This way he always get a one viper activation bonus. So I am just telling everyone who did not firured it out yet. Use TELEPORTATION, it is cool ;-)
Alert Viper Pilot
Correct me if I'm wrong, but...
If Lee goes to the hangar deck and jumps into a viper, he gets one more activation. End result is one more viper on the board, and that viper can move or shoot immediately.
If Lee goes to Command, he can launch a viper and put himself in it, but doesn't get the extra activation for himself. Instead, he has one more activation of an unmanned viper.
So, going to Command to launch yourself is possible, but not an automatic win, since you don't get to activate your own viper.
I belive Lee's ability also grants him an action once he does what our group likes to call "The Adama Shuffle." If not, man have we been playing wrong.
Sorry, Link, but the OP and Funk are right - Apollo gets an action.
"Alert Viper Pilot - When a viper is placed in aspace area from the 'Reserves,' you may choose to pilot it and take 1 action..."
And, yes, teleportation is awesome.

Yes, but when he launches from the Hangar Deck location, he gets yet another action from the text on the Hangar Deck. These stack.

I'm pretty sure this is wrong. Lee can only use Alert Viper Pilot while he is on Galactica.
If Lee activates the Hangar Deck, he leaves Galactica and begins piloting a viper. He can't use Alert Viper Pilot to pilot the viper he just launched, because he's already piloting it and therefore not on Galactica. Since he didn't use the ability, he doesn't get an extra action from it.
If he uses Command to launch a viper, then he's still on Galactica when the viper gets placed, so he can pilot it and get the extra action.
