Problems with core game?

By Schmiegel, in Mansions of Madness

Hello...I have just read the announcement by FFG CEO Christian Petersen mentioning problems with the expansion game, Forbidden Alchemy. In that announcement, he also states "the Mansions of Madness core game was similarly afflicted". I've played the core game just once (and wasn't aware of any issues), but am pretty sure I am receiving it as a gift this Christmas. Now, I am of course disturbed by the comment that the core game was similarly afflicted.

Would anyone be able to tell me if those "afflictions" were rectified? Or does this mean that Mansions of Madness is going to prove to be flawed? Thanks in advance for any insight on this question that someone might provide!

If I were to hazard a guess, it's probably somewhere in the components added to the base game - the additional Mythos cards, maybe something in the new spells, or the new monster cards. But beyond that I can't say for certain, as I haven't scoured it.

You'll likely get the second printing which isn't as riddled with errors as the first printing (though still unnacceptable, as the reason for the second printing was to fix the mistakes of the previous release)

view the Errata PDF for all the errors and corrections:

You can also contact FFG customer service to get the replacement cards for free with the prove of purchase token in the game.

Thanks guys! That's very helpful information.

The release of the core game was delay due to an undisclosed quality control issue with the initial print run.

It was initally delayed due to problems with the miniatures.
