Got Cerberus today

And it's pretty nice. Cursory glance, building material is pretty nice. 2 of the missions are 600 points on a 4x6 area, do it was definitely made with the heavy walkers in mind. Heroes look good, can't wait to put Hellboys and Chef inside a Fireball (how would you like your BBQ gorilla?)

Wow. 4x6... tiles?! That's about 1.1 x 1.7 meters! I'll have to play that on the bloody floor!

Questions:

- Does it come with anything other than the 3D building, half-tile floors and 2 heroes? Any tiles, squares, cover, etc?

- Are the building pieces pre-primed?

- How is it to move squads around inside the building?

As soon I finish up dinner, I'll go more indepth. At my first glance, the buildings didn't seem primed, just molded dark grey plastic.

Ok, dug in a bit more. Building pieces are confirmed dark grey plastic molded, no basecoat. No tiles or cover elements except the half tiles that go with the building. We do get a clear smoke grenade marker similar to the reload marker. And then both heroes, which are pretty well done sculpts (looking forward to painting Chef on my day off Friday. Variable scenarios from 200-600 points. They do a good job of flexing the building piece, you either have them as 2 or 3 one story buildings, or 1 three story building. The last scenario has you actually build it as a larger footprint one story square building built in a square with some rooftop platforms. All in all, a really cool set, probably try some of the scenarios out after the new year.

Cerebus just arrived on my porch!

4x6 tiles? Looks like they're trying to give people another reason to get the tile set. And my table certainly couldn't fit that. I was planning on getting a 4' x 6' board for Dust Warfare - perhaps I'll draw grid lines on one side of it for large scenarios like this.

Would love to see some pics of the building and units in action by those who have it now.

The 4x6 tile scenarios are 600 point games, so there's good reason to have extra room. If players aren't fielding heavies, that coul add up to a lot of models.

A lot? That's all of them!

We played an 800pts a side game this week, no heavy walkers either :)

But you had doubled units? Or is it possible to play a 600 points battle without twins?

I could probably do 600, I have a few multiple units (double core sets, double revised core sets). The first of the two 600 point battles, they recommend a team game and it is setup that way in the mission. The second one they also say you could do a team game, but the setup on that mission could easily be a one on one matchup as well.

The Allies had one core set as doubles, all my Axis were unique but I do have Dust Models walkers as well.

For allies, one of every unit/model = 734 points

Counting heavies, right? It's still possible to play a 600AP game without doubles and without heavies.

Good to know ;) But i nedd to start witch something small, maybe 150 ? :P God damnit! Why isn't x-mass today!

I was counting one punisher in that amount

I got curious.

With only general release models (only models available for current retail purchase through Operation Cerberus) and no duplicates :

Axis with heavy walkers can field 805, without heavy walkers 623, and with limited availability heroes 871 AP.

Allies with heavy walkers can field 820, without heavy walkers 638, and with limited availability heroes 878 AP.

The heavy NCO Command Squads will add 35 points to those totals when they show up.

I'm guessing you counted both heavies? My calculation was taking one purchased box into account, I included only a wildfire and punisher instead of both variants

Thanks for that, was to lazy to do it myself;)

Not a problem. I'd created a simple spreadsheet calculator some time ago, so it was simply plug and chug with drop down menus to get the numbers.

The numbers include one of every official variation, so both heavy walkers are included for each faction.

Arguably, the Axis should be lower by 28 points for the first two numbers, as I included the Loth by mistake, and it isn't commerically available.

How many People only field 1 of each squad though? I personally field at least 4 recon grendiers in almost all my army lists. so I would assume most players have a second of their favorite squad or at least plan on getting a second. Also it's not too hard to proxy a squad or 2 if your short the units.

Any chance you can make this available to those of us who suck at Excel?

Being an ally only player, I do dig the fire. 2 BBQ squads were a staple of most of my forces, now that I have 2 Hellboys I have some more fiery flexibility. I'm also in love with the Wildfire and would like to get a 3rd light walker.

I do, as that gives me more fun units to play with, rather than play to win. Why would you want to play with the same units every time when there are so many to choose from now? If there were any DT competitions around here I'll definately would like more Recon Grenadiers.
