Highlock Freemen?

By CorpseGod, in Deathwatch

Do we not mention the Highlock Freemen(Achilus Assault) around Gav or any of the GW crowd?

Because they look an awful lot like a re-skin of the Short Questionable Unmentionable Advanced Technology race. That race-that-never-existed-although-we-made-minis-and-put-em-in-novels-but-couldnt-work-them-into-the-Grimdark-future-setting-on-account-of-their-fans-expectations-so-retconned-em is the one I'm talking about.

I'm not one of those who lament their loss, but always thought the Inquistion War trilogy's treatment of them as abhumans rather than a different race altogether was the way to go. Is FFG agreeing or at leas giving it fan-service here?

Nice catch, I hadn't gotten to that sidebar of the book. Certainly seems that way happy.gif

In the Ravenor trilogy, one supporting character is a Rogue Trader who is strongly implied to be a Squat. I thought that might be an indication that they could be making a comeback (minus the 1970s biker asthetic that ruined them originally), but I haven't seen any subsequent evidence of that...
