Characteristic advancement Question

By Romus, in WFRP Rules Questions

Shouldn't the following be legal? Basically investing points in characteristics over the course of 2 or more careers?

Career 1: Toughness and Willpower (Current Toughness 4)

OPEN CAREER ADVANCES:
Open Career Advance: Wound 2
Open Career Advance : Action Card 2
Open Career Advance : Fortune 1
Open Career Advance : Reckless 1
Open Career Advance: 1 point in Toughness
Open Career Advance: 1 point in Toughness

Non Career Advance : 1 point in Agility

Non Career Advance: 1 point in Agility

Move into career two, that has different primary characteristics.

Career 2: Agility and Fellowship (Current Toughness 4, Current Agility 3)

OPEN CAREER ADVANCES:
Open Career Advance: Wound 2
Open Career Advance: Action Card 2
Open Career Advance : Fortune 1
Open Career Advance : Reckless 1
Open Career Advance : 1 point in Agility
Open Career Advance : 1 point in Agility [Agility Goes up to 4]

Non Career Advance: 1 Point in Toughness
Non Career Advance : 1 Point in Toughness
Non Career Advance: 1 Point in Toughness
Non Career Advance: 1 Point in Toughness [Toughness goes up to 5]

Well, "should" is a vague statement here. I would say, as per se, it is clearly not legal.

As a house rule, if you ask me, it makes sense, a kind of continued progression between career. If you like it buy it!

Wait each point of a characteristic increase cost counts as a career advance? I thought it was each full point increase, it just costs more than one advancement point.

No bigity

Each exp point spent in a characteristic fills one carreer (or non-career) advance slot. For example, increasing a characteristic from 3 to 4 cost 4 exp and 4 career (or non-carrer) advance slots.

Time to re-read that section! Thanks

I brought up issues with upping an ability both in- and out-of-career in the House Rules thread .
