Psychic Inclination...

By Ranga, in Anima: Beyond Fantasy RPG

Hi all. I'm thinking of picking up this advantage and curious as to how it works exactly. Based on the rules I'm inclined to think it "lowers the difficulty" of manifesting powers since "increasing success level" would mean that your roll just bumps up one level on the char since success levels are defined by the roll, if your total is 80 you have achieved an "average" success (i think). With Inclination "Average" becomes "Difficult" 120 (again I'm winging the names of the success levels). that would mean a power normally only activated on 180 could now get a minimum effect on 140.

But that might be rules lawyering. For a 2CP investment it seems fair to me, but I can also see an argument being made for the 180 still being the minimum level and just always rolling over to 240. However, for an advantage that only affects one discipline that doesn't seem like 2CP, where as my interpretation does.

If theres any clarification this I would appreciate it, thanks!

I think Anima Studios, over on the official forums, supports your interpretation with his rulings. Here's the thread/message (I hope):

With him saying if you roll below a 20, and it is then considered to be a 20, that seems to make sense with what you're saying. Make sure you run it by your GM though, to get his interpretation.

I also rule it using your interpretation. Yeah it's a pretty awesome advantage especially for Multi-Class Mentalists with a single Discipline!
