Reaper move or not?

By player634503, in Talisman

Hi !

A question came up last evening about the Reaper movement. The rules says that you must roll and move the Reaper if you roll "1" on the dice (for movement), but what happens if I pay one Fate to reroll the dice (the "1") and get e.g a "4" on the dice? Reaper moves or not?

Thanks“for help in advance.

Well, you might think of it that you might be able to use a Fate token to cheat fate... but you can't fool Death himself!

I'd still move him as he is triggered by the ROLL of the 1 for movement, not the acceptance of it.

No, you have re-rolled the die and you are taking the second result for anything that pertains to it.

Why should you spend a fate to roll again for the reaper.

You can always control the reaper in your own turn. The only thing i can think about is, to move the reaper to another player. But why should you take that risk to spend a fate point for it. You must really want to beat your opponent, or is it revenge gui%C3%B1o.gif

Maybe you can better save that fate point for something else lengua.gif
