Getting into Warhammer 3E

By Herremann, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Hello Everyone,

I would appreciate some advice for getting into Warhammer 3e [my group has about 150 years of rpg experience all told so while we are new to Warhammer and Warhammer 3e, we are quite experienced otherwise]. I already have the core rules box set as well as the adventurer's toolkit.

In what order should I be purchasing "stuff"? I'll most likely end up buying everything but as that's going to take a while, I'd appreciate the order in which I should get things. Our group loves the "bits" so if there is an order of "bits bang for buck" in terms of products that would be cool.

Can you highlight what you consider essential/highly desirable or "optional"?

I was looking for a one shot to get the group started and warmed up and was considering the Witch's Song. Is this a good idea or have you a better suggestion? How would you rate the adventures thus far?

I have been listening to the Reckless Dice podcast which I have found excellent. Are there any other sources/podcasts worth exploring?

Thank you very much for all your help in assisting us get into the game.

Best Regards

Herremann

You should check my blog the Daily Empire. I've tried to gather guides for new players and inspiration for all in there.

I'd look into the Creature's Vault and the Creature's Guide. And the Gamemaster's guide, since it has the rules for corruption, diseases and mutation included. Otherwise you'd have to go for Signs of Faith and Winds of Magic. Apart from that I think Omens of War is quite essential when you want your players to suffer severe wounds. gran_risa.gif
