Dark Pharaoh Dilemma

By henonchesser, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

This first expansion I bought was CotDP 1st edition. Eventually I want them all, I've got it Dunnwich and Innsmoth now. So I have a few questions.

1. Is CotDP non revised compatible with Miskatonic?

2. Is it worth buying the revised edition purely based on its own merit?

3. Is non revised fine too?

4. Do you know if they plan on re-do-ing anything thing else so I can hold of on it?

1. Miskatonic adds five new Exhibit items. The other stuff it adds is for the revised version, so you won't be able to use it. But it's not incompatible with MH.

2. I believe it's worth the money, but I'm a compulsive completionist. I also had the opportunity to pick-and-choose which cards I was using from which version .

3. Both versions are fine. Revised is superior, but with the exception of the Ancient Whispers and Patrol mechanic, you're not missing out on much. The old one still retains its original charm.

4. I've made so many claims such as "they'll never do ___" and was later proven wrong, so I can't say for sure. But Christian Petersen said that CotDP was the only expansion with a planned revision, so I'd go with that.

Thanks, I'm sure even pick up everything else before I ever think of grabbing CotDP again, but that did help.
