Solitaire play: AI with flow chart

By ikim, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

I have been engaged by AGoT for the past month, and I find it one of the best games ever (yes, even better then LOTR:LCG, which I LOVE); but my issue is that I harly find people to play with, or the time to play.

Which are very good and detailed, but, maybe because I still have to understand all the little card intricancies, and interactions, I take more time determining what the AI needs to do, than actually play the game by it rules.
So, I decided to write a flowchart, to give a Robot (like Rick likes to call his AI) a decent intelligence.

I have kept it simple, and I have not taken into account card effects, traits, and lots of "little" things (because I am a novice at this game, so I still need to understand a few things, and because making a flowchart taking all those things into account would take ages to write and play).
I have countered this lack of intelligence, with a very "character" heavy AI, that should compensate the lack of intelligence.

Of course, this is just a draft.
I have been using it, and it is fun, but is it tactically sound? I don't know...

So, here's the deal: why don't we play test it, and report the bugs and the issues here?
I will update it and keep everything flowing.

Uh, almost forgot: here it is:

It seems like the pic has been re-sized... if you want to have a look at it without burning your eyes, go here: javascript:void(0);/*1324035927153*/

What I do is this... its simpler.

I just assume this:

3 of my characters in marshaling are knelt if its "Lannister"

3 of my characters are burned if its "Targaryen"

2 of my characters are icon-less if its martell

3 of my characters are killed after a military challenge if its "Stark" (in addition to claim 2 so its 5 total). But Stark does no intrigue challenge.

If its greyjoy they win on turn 4, and I have 3 less gold to work with.

Bara wins on turn 3. Also discard your best card on turn 1.

If its martell or greyjoy the best effect each phase is cancelled.

I win all challenges I initiate.

The opponent always gets in 3 challenges of claim 2.

Is this for playtesting against yourself? That's hardcore, I might have to try that!

I get the rest of the assumptions, but the discard one is confusing me. Is that something Bara does?

I was trying to figure that out too...I'm guessing it's just representing a good intrigue pull? But that wouldn't fit with the "opponent always wins 3 claim 2 challenges" part.

Confession is a common card in many bara decks, due to Melisandre having a holy crest.

And, yes I use that to play test my decks. It's a little over the top since its supposed to simulate if the opponent got the perfect hand and setup and just got moving.

I have tried the flow chart.
I was using the Baratheon preconstructed deck, provideded by the core box; Rob (the AI) was using the Barathoeon reconstructed deck.

Result: Rob won 15 to 9.

I on purpose used these two unmodified decks; I will use my custom tournament legal Stark, and Rob will use a custom tournament legal Targarien deck.

We'll see how I do.

Cheers

P.S. how do you use this:

you just play without an opponent? using all the normal rules?

very interesting! and yes, a LOT easier than my flowchatr
