Dwarfs should be aligned with Druchii right?

I don't see any reason why they should be aligned with good elves, but plenty of reasons why they should align with the Druchii.

I thought they think all elves are the same and a dark elf is just the pointy looking elf who calls himself something different and attacks people. They probably reckon that the dark elf marauders are paid by the pheonix king to dress differently so they can take slaves back to Ulthuan so he can have lots of sexy parties with them.

If they found out the truth they may actually like the "good elves" more. It was Malekith's fault the war of the beard happened when it did.

What about the Dwarf experience of Druchii would lead them to some sort of alliance? Surely everything the Dwarfs dislike about 'regular' elves (that they are decadent, distrustful, and so on...) applies just as much, if not more so, to the Druchii.

You might be applying a case of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" here. But I think in doing so you not only treat a cliche as law, but overestimate the degree of hostility between the Dwarf realms and Ulthuan and the Dwarfs understanding of what Dark Elves are.

The Dwarf 'hot war' with Ulthuan was settled with the slaying of the Phoenix King which ended the war of the beard, and the High Elves' abandonment of the Old World. These days the Dwarfs and High Elves exist in a state of mutual mistrust, though they are still apparently able to unite in the face of Chaos incursion. The Dark Elves, meanwhile, are known to prey upon coastal regions, including conducting slave raids on allies of the Dwarfs.

It probably doesn't help that the Druchii have made it their business to enslave dwarfs and walk around in garments made of dwarf skins.

Wouldn't they prefer to assist the Druchii in their ongoing war against the elves though? I would think the Dwarfs would be perfectly happy to see the elves fighting amongst themselves.

At best they see druchii as no better than other elves, and otherwise as slave taking scum. If they really understood druchii and history they would hate them intensely. The druchii also would not ally with the stunties, and I believe it is said dwarves do not make good slaves.

Dwarf contact with the Druchii is next to non-existent however, so really if they saw one they'd be most likely to swing first ask questions later. Also, as has already been mentioned, Dark Elves are unrepentant back-stabbers, slavers and traitors. Dwarves are allied with humans because humans helped the dwarves first. Dark elves? Hardly likely, since they started the war of the beard.

No Dwarf worth his beard would ally himself or his clan with a Druchii.

The Druchii manipulated the Dwarfs into declaring a devastating and costly Grudge war against the elves, a previous ally. This resulted in the decline of all Dwarfen civilization, as their emptied holds were overrun by Greenskins and Skaven.

The Druchii culture is anathema to nearly all aspects of Dwarf culture.

The Druchii and the Chaos Dwarfs, although not allies, most likely are trade partners when it comes to exotic slaves and such, so Dwarfs would not take lightly to a culture that traded with the people who represent their darkest shame.

If the Druchii deception is known in Dwarf culture currently, then the Druchii would probably be third most hated Dwarf enemy - Greenskins, Chaos/Chaos Dwarfs, Druchii, Skaven, other Elves... Maybe even the most hated, but since Greenskins hold that "honor", it would imply that the Dwarfs do not know of Malekith's deception.

If the deception is not known in Dwarf culture then they are all just untrustworthy, dishonorable, arrogant Elves, no matter what they call themselves, or where they live.

I think it's really just jealousy - all those Elves are so tall and slim... Like fashion models. That seems Grudge-worthy to me.

A long time ago - even for a Dwarf.

The Grudge against Ulthuan as a nation, and the High Elves as people, was settled with the death of Caledor II, the Phoenix Crown taken as "full recompense" according to timelines in various sources.

Whilst there may have been violence and grudges between certain Dwarf and Elf factions in that time they have allied more often than fought.

So - with the possible exception of a few petulant skirmishes - what ongoing war?
