Missing card(s) in Forbidden Alchemy

By book2, in Mansions of Madness

Hi all,

I just picked up Forbidden Alchemy from my local gaming store. I went to work on sorting it, replacing the updated cards from the base set/integrating the cards and figures in with the base set components. As I prepped for the 'Yellow Matter' story, I noticed a card for the setup called 'Electrical Trap' mentioned in the Keeper Guide. There was not specification as to it being seeded anywhere. I searched through all the cards, trying to re-sort what I had mixed in (not thinking I would have to inventory everything). I have no 'Electrical Trap' card. Worse yet, the 'Nothing of Interest' don't have the expansion, so I couldn't remember how many there were in the expansion to count against the sum of Exploration cards to see if this was in fact some sort of printing blunder.

Is this yet another rulebook typo for Mansions, or was I shorted a card? Would someone be so kind as to list what exploration cards came with this (card by card)? Or, at the least, how many 'Nothing of Interests' came with this expansion?

Everything else seems accounted for except this particular card. I'd appreciate any info!

HELP!

I see folks have been lookin' at this; anyone have an answer?

i haven't got mine yet at hand. as soon as i take it i will tell you if it missing from me too.happy.gif

Much appreciated! Anyone else get a copy and discover this same problem?

Update folks, I did some more digging and we have yet another typo. There is no 'Electrical Trap." I compared the base number of Nothing of Interests (10) to the additional 6 from the expansion. I then counted the new Clues and the 1 replacement Clue WITH the other new Exploration cards and sure enough, I had the 53 as per the new manual.

I dearly love these games, but don't understand how so many typos creep through to print.

Hello Book,

You are not missing any cards. The "Electrical Trap" card had its name changed to "False Clue". Please use this card instead.

I hope this addresses your concern, and thanks for playing!

Corey, what is the deal with 'False Clue?' It doesn't seem to do anything other than sit on the board like a fancy 'Nothing of Interest.' Am I missing something?

This is just me guessing, but I'd say that having False Clue/Electrical Trap listed for Yellow Matter is a mistake, and it's supposed to go with the Traps and Treachery Keeper card.

Thing is, I did all the set up, and after all the set up there are 9 locations that get random cards, and 9 cards left over, including False Clue. So... either some other card is supposed to take False Clue's place (either something of value or a Nothing of Interest), or it's just there to make the players go, "WTF, mate?" :S

I just skipped that story until I received a definitive answer. Was it any good? Return of the Reanimator is rather funny with the crawling hands and stunning the crap out of investigators.

I didn't actually get a chance to run it yet. Just set it up to make sure the component count was accurate. >_>
