Some Questions From newbies vol5

1) The Plot "loyalty Money Can buy" writes "The claim value on each opponents' revealed plot card is lowered by 1 while that opponent is attacking you". It sounds simple enough , i just wanted to make sure we did not play it wrong cause it seems really powerfull. So in a melee game , if you have this plot and opponents have plots with claim 1 , you lose nothing by losing challenges by any player right???

2) Lets say i have Aria Stark for the Core set in play. And i also have Aria Stark from kings landing expansion in the shadows. How does Duplicate work in this case? I mean do i have to pay gold to bring Aria out of the shadows and duplicate her?

3) In a melee game, lets say i choose an opponent to start a challenge. Can i use the "stealth" ability of one of my characters to choose a character of an other player , not the one i am attacking, to prevent him for defending? (i want to do that in case that other player can support the player i am attacking.)

4) We have some problem with the way a challenge ends. I mean in what order are the effects resolved.

Lets say i start a military challenge with Ser Jaime Lannister from Kings Landing. (he writes Deadly . Response: After you win a challenge in wich Ser Jaime Lannister participated, choose and kneel a non-Army character"). The other player defends with no deadly characters and i win the challenge.

Will the effects take place in the following order?

First the player sacrifices a character from deadly

Then i choose and kneel a non-army character from jaime's ability

and at last that player sacrifices characters equal to my plots claim value?

Yes if they have claim 1 then you lose nothing. They can still claim unopposed power, renown etc and if they have claim 2 then they will still get 1 "claim" past you

2) Lets say i have Aria Stark for the Core set in play. And i also have Aria Stark from kings landing expansion in the shadows. How does Duplicate work in this case? I mean do i have to pay gold to bring Aria out of the shadows and duplicate her?

Just attach as a dupe as normal. As you are not putting the card into play through shadows you don;t have to pay the gold.

No you can't. And you are right that if it is defended by a supporting player, or redirected with Kingsguard title, you have missed your chance to stealth anybody

4) We have some problem with the way a challenge ends. I mean in what order are the effects resolved.

Heres the order from the FAQ

This is the order.

1 - Claim effects - such as killing characters (and also any responses that cancel claim effects, or save charcters killed at this point)

2 - Passive effects - such as deadly (then any responses that save this character)

3 - All other Responses to challenge resolution or any claim effects - such as Jamies

4 - Dead characters go to dead pile.

Note that this means if you kill your only defender due to claim then there is no-one left to kill through Deadly.

Really? So if i have the Bastard's Elite "After a player wins a military challenge against you, that player takes control of the Bastard's Elite" , and i lose a military challenge, can i kill it for my opponents claim value, so that he does not take control of it????

As for your other questions:

2) While you can dupe with Shadow cards as normal from your hand, if you do play them into Shadows, you will have to pay to bring them out of Shadows before they become a dupe. You cannot, for example, put Shadow-Arya into Shadows in Round 1 (leaving her there), then play CS-Arya the next round, then bring the Shadow Arya out of play to dupe the CS-version in play for free. You will have to pay the part of Arya's cost that lets you bring the card out of Shadows.

So, normally if you dupe directly from your hand, or "normal from Shadows" if you choose to dupe by going through Shadows.

3) If the challenge is redirected from the original defender to the holder of the Lord Commander Title, you do get the chance to "re-declare" stealth. Supporting does not (but then, you are not technically redirecting the challenge when you defend in support).
