Winter is Coming! .... to Stoke on Trent, UK.

By Arrdet, in 3. AGoT Organized Play

Hello everyone,

On Sunday December 18th GTG Games & Hobbies will be running their December AGoT event. We are based in Stoke on Trent in the Midlands, UK and would like to invite anyone that can make it to come along for an afternoon of Thrones goodness.

The event starts at 12 midday and we advise you to be here for around 11:30am for registration so we can start promptly.

It costs £5 to enter the event.

Prizes include a Core Set for first, a chapter packof choice for second and 2 random prizes of the Iron Throne stein and The Art of Ice and Fire Vol 1.

For the event itself:

On the off chance that the Lanni box or On Dangerous Grounds comes out during the week (not likely) they will NOT be legal for this event. All other errata, restricted and banned cards will be taken from the most recent FAQ.

You can use a different deck for the melee and the joust rounds however the House card you use MUST remain the same.

The event will start with 3 rounds of joust. It's 5 points for a win, 3 for a modified win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss.

There will be a short break for food and deck alterations.

The last half of the event will be 2 rounds of melee, using the melee set up from the core set. On 3 player tables it's 5 points per player you beat, 4 player tables it's 3 points per player you beat and 1 for winning the table.

This means there are 5 more points available for the melee half of the event than the joust half. In the event of a tie then your strength of schedule from the joust rounds will determine the winner.

Unless all rounds go to time then we should be finished on or around 6pm.

We have done several Thrones events in store now (and will be running at least one a month going forward in 2012) and they have all been good days with a lot of fun had by all. A Game of Thrones is going from strength to strength here with new players every month, we would love to see more Thrones players from outside our local play group be able to get away and enjoy a day out with us.

If you have any questions then you can email us at [email protected] or join us on Facebook www.facebook.com/groups/155774774507927/ (I aren't sure if these facebook links work if you aren't already in the group so sorry if I messed it up).

Hope to see you all on the 18th.

Well, my and a couple of others will be travelling from Cov.

Between us I do alright with Lannister in a Joust but suck horribly in Melee, so it will be an interesting event for me!

Really looking forward to this tourney as the last couple have been excellent!

It was really good to have new players in the store to play against and see some new decks! Look forward to playing against you all :)

Cheers

I was thinking about driving from Liverpool for this tournment. What is the address of your store and is there any where near to park?

Cheers Keith

Hi Mate

The address of the store is

301-303 City Road, Fenton,, Stoke On Trent, ST4 2QA

There is plenty of parking across the road from the store (free on a sunday) and a Kebab shop next door

Co-op / KFC / McDonalds / Subway are all a few minutes walk / drive away :)

Hope to see you there!

Cheers

Kev

I'm pleased to say that the turnout is already looking good for this, our last AGOT event before 2012.

Don't forget that although in AGOT You Win, Or you Die at GTG You win, or You get the chance to get a random prize such as an Iron Throne Stein.

We want to ensure that people come to PLAY much more than coming to win.

Because if I play you are all screwed anyway (Mighty Starks!)
