Psyniscience in Illumination

By The_Shaman, in Dark Heresy Gamemasters

Hi, I'm running Illumination for a group of friends, and while it hasn't come up so far, I'm curious how you'd treat any uses of psyniscience on the "dead" things the acolytes can come across at in the adventure - the dead Ashleen that they find on the way to Stern hope, the corrupted Hexalid, or any of the dead raiders the abbot mentions are occasionally found in the hills near the town. The PCs are already at the settlement and will have a full day of investigation before the ceremony, so they may come across a few strange corpses - including some that aren't quite dead.

I imagine using any warp-powers to animate them or leave them there would result in some residual warp-taint, but how strong will it be and how easy will it be for the PCs to detect? The hexalid attack, at least, might cause a few eyebrows to be raised in the psyker's general direction.

There is one more thing that Aristarchus will probably downplay or at least want verification on any such incidents due to the stress he's under and the ... things happening in Stern hope; he already blew the acolyte's suspicions about the dead man during the night watch on the way to the settlement, so perhaps his vision is particularly clouded. Do you think that is realistic or am I playing him as a bit too blind to what is going on?
