The Fio Check Mate !!!

By Exodu$, in UFS Deck Building

Since Fio is my favorite character, I decided to post her for my first posted deck online. What I like about her are her symbols, her ability, her hand size. The deck is simple. It runs on chaos and air, and for the most part, the deck plays itself. I still feel like I need a little more defense. What do you think?

FIO

ATTACKS :

4 Wicked Chew 5/3

4 Check Mate 6/2

ACTIONS:

3 Special Ops 2/4

4 Tag Along 5/4

ASSETS:

4 Olcadan's Mentorings 0/6

FOUNDATIONS:

4 Whereabouts Unknown 1/5 ( Soon to be Lord of the Makai to make the deck type 3)

4 Professional Soldiers 1/5

4 Military Combat Arts 1/5

4 La Superba 2/5

4 King of Fighters 2000 2/5

4 Natural Leader 3/5

4 ... the harder they fall 2/5

4 Make a Difference 3/4

4 Ikari Warrior 3/5

4 Chester's Backing 4/6

The deck is simple. Get momentum gain foundations in your staging. Get one whereabouts. Hopefully, you will have a Ikari Warrior in play or Special Ops in your hand. Use Fio's ability to put cards from the opponent's hand into their momentum during the E phase after playing Wicked Chew. I found that most opponents usually keep 3 to 4 cards in their hand. If they have one card in their hand, use Special Ops. If you have Ikari Warrior in play, put all of their card from their hand to their momentum, then use Ikari Warrior. After that, use the E on Wicked Chew. This should make your checks for the rest of the turn +6 to +8 if this attack deals damage. It will because they should have no cards in hand. Play Check Mate and use its E and loop Check Mate. As long as you can discard 2 momentum, the loop will continue. When you start running out of momentum, use Whereabouts to give you your momentum. Simply. So what do you think?

Honestly, if you ever do get your loop off, I have no doubt your deck will pummel your opponent's. However, what are your deck's answers against Olcadan's, SoC, Chester's, and other similar things? If your opponent has already played your deck before, they'll easily just Olcadan your Ikari Warrior or Chester it. The best you could do against all the block three ability canceling and foundation destroying broken cards are, is play them in your deck as well, lol.

Oh, and don't forget blinding rage for anti-Olcadan.

Get some Tira's Contract in there (if possible). Their momentum-block ability works exceptionally well as a stall tactic to protect fragile little Fio while setting up the loop.

Makai High Noble can be good anti-Olcadan's as well.

Thats why I play with them. I also sideboard Seals of Cessations and Chinese Boxings. Most people use their mentorings on my deffensive cards, Make a difference and ...the Harder They Fall. As for getting rid of the Ikari Warriors, there is still Special Ops to deal with. You Olcadan's Mentoring my Chesters, you will have to give me momentum gain or deffensive foundations... your choice. There are no useless foundations in this deck. Besides, Military Combat Arts and The King of Fighters 2006 have Fio's ability built in. So in other words, I dont have to use my ability, Ikari Warriors, or Special Ops. If push comes to shove, I use Tag Along. No Problem. Been there... Done that. Thanks for the advise though.

I totally forgot about Makai High Nobles and Blinding Rages. But what cards would you take out. Write me back and let me know.

Thank you very much for the advice.

I commend you for having a well, though-out contingency plan in case the battle really does come to push and shove. I would recommend taking out four professional soldiers to add in four Makai High Noble, and I would say take out four La Superba for four Blinding Rage. Running four Blinding Rage is only optional, since alot of decks only run an average of 2 to 3 in a deck. If you only run 2 to 3, you could add those empty slots elsewhere you see fit.

I would actually say you don't need 4 makai high noble and 4 blinding rages, personally I think blinding rage is better and would replace prof soldier with it
