BSG Review on The Game's the Thing

By Ronism42, in Battlestar Galactica

It got "awesome"s all around. So that's....awesome.

Awesome. Awesome to the Max.

I didn't really agree with a lot of the comments in this review. For example:

-There are more ways to "subvert" the humans other than just putting bad cards in the skill checks. In fact, I would go as far as to say that throwing bad cards in the skill checks is probably one of the worst ways to affect the humans as it's probably the most likely to get you caught. Read that awesome 'What Humans Find Suspicious' article on the BSG main page for better insight into all the stuff Cylons can do to ruin the humans.

-3 player still works really good. You just need to know what to do as the Cylon. Again, read that article.

-The benefits of keeping hidden as a Cylon are just as great as revealing, as the distrust created is THE most powerful thing the Cylons can do.

-2 people didn't even like the show?? What the frak! The show is awesome, com'on. happy.gif

At least they all liked the game still, I guess.

I agree with you completely that there are more ways than this to subvert, but were were specifically speaking to the rules options, here.

-3 player still works really good.

We'll just have to agree to disagree here.

-The benefits of keeping hidden as a Cylon are just as great as revealing, as the distrust created is THE most powerful thing the Cylons can do.

I'm not sure how this is a disagreement, unless you're speaking to our recommendation for a three-player game. In that case, I'll go back to the agreeing to disagree.

While I'm sad my wife has bad taste in TV shows, on occasion, I'm glad that it bled over into men. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Thanks for taking the time to listen! I have read the article you've referenced and have found it to be helpful.

It's all cool. After all, you guys did give the game a good rating.

And yeah, that 'What Humans Find Suspicious' article is amazing. FFG should include a copy with the game, lol.
