for 40k and I have not stumbled over it one yet, is it because I am blind or is it the 1 piece of outdoor equipment that they do not have?

I don't have the book handy right now, but I'm pretty sure there is one in Inquisitor's Handbook , in the War World section.

Actually i looked it up in both the IHB and the DHCB and a canteen ( or a facimile of it ) is NOT mentioned anywhere...It is very odd they forgot that but remembered the salt tabs etc. Id say a canteen would be something like

Canteen ( Plastek )

Availability: Plentiful Cost: 5 thrones Weight: 0.1kg ( empty ) / 0.7kg ( full )

Canteen ( Metal )

Availability: Common Cost: 10 thrones Weight: 0.3kg ( empty ) / 1 kg ( full )

In addition, if I really need a prize I throw a d5. If my players complaint about it ("this is OUTRAGEOUS!") I explain it away with the item not being manufactured locally or some event that drained supply. But it normally works quiet fine.

Sorry for the confusion over the weight..i actually messed up on the conversion rate and didnt notice the mistake in sizing from one to the other..lol thanks for catching that. It was supposed to be this ( with adjustment for pricing as well )

The actual amount of water they both hold is the same...it is 1 liter of water. I double checked the conversion rates for it and realized i was off..lol 1 Liter worth of water weight precisely 1kg. These numbers are more accurate now..sorry for the confusion and thanks for pointing out the error..lol oops
