Talisman Painted Characters

By icesickels, in Talisman

I'm almost done with my set of miniatures. I'm not happy with everyone of them, but some are quite good for my standard. I painted the last miniature 5 years ago and this is the first time I try to apply shadows, lighting and a huge amount of details, as per Character Card pictures. I'll try to post a photo when I'm finished (Monk, Ghoul, Merchant and Thief still to go).

I painted all four Toads with the same color pattern (in order to save paint and time) and got almost the same result of icesickels' Toad in front of Toad Card, which is the most true to Toad's original figure.

Very good. I wish I had any kind of skill with a brush, but sadly it is not to be.

By the way, there are still a few gaps in the minis section on Talisman Island that require images. Hint, hint... gran_risa.gif

Same here. This is why I'm just gonna keep buying Upgrade Kits to practice on the extra minis, and if they turn out badly I'll just buy another kit and try again. I may end up with a bunch of abominable minis, but EVENTUALLY I should have some decent looking ones. gui%C3%B1o.gif

Great work! Once I get my replacement Sage mini. I will begin to paint my Talisman figs as well. I have to say that the Reaper Expansion is AWESOME!!!

...and You will have a lot of cards to make Your own...;)

Hey TI, what would be cool is if you had at least a generic "How to paint a minature" article, and maybe the contributers of the images you have could include the colours that they used. Just a thought.

They look great! I must get mine painted. :-)

Daniel.

I think your friend did you a wonderful service, i almost broke my monitor reaching in for a few of those pieces. I won't have any of my figures in a magazine, gameshop display case and certainly not in White Dwarf, but even I know that must have been a very difficult job, the pieces for talisman are great, but they were not designed to be painted, plus the fact the likeness to the cards was just as or even more impressive. What brand of paints did he use by the way I would love to know, I hope they are Citadel, because I also have a friend who owes me money.....(playing with my fingers Monty Burns style) Excellent....

Yes, he is very good at what he does. He does use Citidal Paints.

He is currently working on painting a large group of warhammer pieces.

Glad you guys like them.

Nice paintinggran_risa.gif

Just completed all the characters. It feels good to be done knowing that with each expansion I will only need to paint 5 at a time, not 27!

Nice Job!

I still have 12 to go :(

Been doing them with the kids, not too bad a job, but only a parent could really appreciate them. My daughters job on the Prophetess was great but she looked like she got punched in the face by the Troll! It's the eyes, she had a big black eye. I had to do a little reconstructive surgery... lol

Hi Bonesaw,

Nice painting.

You have a nice collection of painted characters nowgui%C3%B1o.gif

Yeah I have so many painting projects on the go that I have yet to paint the minis and now with the Reaper expansion AND The Dungeon that is A LOT of painting. But I will get there. Want to get the last few Twilight ships painted and finish up the LT's for Descent and then have the newly released LT's to paint so I will get to it at some point.

wow, asowme.

to bad ffg didnt relase them already painted; then again they probably would have charged an extra $5 per figure to have them "custom painted"

im gonna have my cousin do my figures since hes a pro at painting warhammer figures.

hope they come out like those, excellent workaplauso.gif

Very nice. I like to see a collector brozen set like they did for wow.

Nice to see a lot of folks painting their pieces....I just bought my own copy and started working on my toads....I use citadel paints along with PP3 paints

Starting to paint Talisman figures soon, nearly finished all the Descent figures.

Came here to get a few ideas, nice paint jobs. :)

Thinking of painting the coins too :D Or atleast shading them...

Any good tip on how to get bent characters straightened?

Tried hot water then in the freezer but it didn't work... :(
