I'm slowly loosing intrest in this game becouse I'm getting sick and tired of the waiting for the release. Still no official release date, the previews don't change anyrthing. Summer really means nothing to me. This could be as good early June or late August or even September (it's still summer according to calendar). According to the fist news the game should be in stores in January or Febuary - that time we did not get any news. And then suddenly it was changed to 2Q 2012 - and that does not mean nothing becouse the latest news are saying summer. Looking at this we can be sure that we will not see this earlier then 3Q 2012. So I'm tired and I had enough. If it all goes on like this and FFG will not give us anything official abut the release, I'm going to buy me something different and maybe come to this game next year if it will be released to that time.

Really, is it so hard to give players a strait anwser to one so important to them question? Is it so hard saying a name of a month and not something like summer?

FFG - please give us one so important anwser - when the game will hit stores?

PS. Don't trust stores becouse they don't know the official release date for this title to this day. FFG did not give them anything official so they are guesing.

PPS. I talked with some people and one of the publishers of a forein language version of the game sayed the game will hit stores between 3Q and 4Q. So i't looks like it will be for Chrismas 2012, maybe.

If they've started previews, then the game isn't more than a couple of months away. The now-expected date of mid-late June (around the Realms of Terrinoth event) seems realistic.

Well, Fantasy Flight you have done it again. Thank you for not really giving us a release date, but instead giving us another vague time frame for this summer. Truly I wanted to see the game released in late May, but I am hoping that it will now be late June. Sure I am already going to the event, but I would have liked to have played some games of it first before I went. Between 3Q 2012 and 4Q 2012 - it's an official news from the publisher of Polish version of the game. So this I think will cool many peoples heads. We will not play this game this summer but after it and after GenCon 2012. That's a big, sad news to many of us.

Like I said we will get it for X-mas 2012 knowing that FFG releases are always later and not sooner.

PS. To make it a lot more nervous I can tell You that Tom Vasel has the game but He can't talk about it until FFG will let him. He will make a big review of this game. For a proof I send You to Toms new Dice Tower review called Commander in chef. At 5.10 You can see right above Toms head the box with a new unseen monser - a fishman / sharkman.

At this point who knows when the game will be released? I still believe that with the Realms of Terrinoth event this June that it will be released sometime around that. They did say that if you show up to the event you will be one of the first to play it. Maybe they might try to release the second edition of Descent along with the first expansion of Rune Age around the time of the Terrinoth event??? Honestly who knows anymore about this game?

If you don't mind I will move the topic of the mystery "Fishman" to another forum to talk about it, but good catch.

Well, you can be sure that descent will not get out in next 14 days because they are talking about how we get more info in next previewS not preview.

My guess is around end of june

FYI: GTSDistribution has the release date of Descent 2nd Edition in June. This kinda fortifies the thoughts that it will be around the time of Realms of Terrinoth.

If Fantasy Flight Games was interested in providing you service and telling you what they probably have known for some time, they would have done so already. Some publishers provides gamers with such informations, its just not FFG's style. So enjoy all the other games there are, and sooner or later you'll notice the game on the shelves in your local store. Then you can buy it, unless you have found another game in the meantime that is taking your time =)

It's a shame that FFG's presence at Origins is somewhat lackluster compared to Gen-Con. I'm going next week and would love the surprise of a lifetime to have a few copies there for sale. Wishful thinking I'm sure, but I guess I can cross my finigers and pretend that they would love to have Origins mean something to them besides 100 copies of Mansions of Madness for sale.

Looks like release is pushed back into July/August time frame. Preview events July 6-8.

I hate to say it but this might just be released at Gen Con. If it’s going to be mid July, might as well hold for a big release at Gen Con in August.

Malicain I hate to admit it but Youre right. I told You all it's going to be this way. A couple post sooner I posted a news from publisher of polish veriosn of the game and the release date is between 3Q and 4Q 2012. I know it feels like a big kick in the … from FFG. And like You all I don't like it but it FFG. They do what they want. You will see the game will be avaliable after GenCon (a few copies will be there to buy for sure). So maybe we will see it in September or November (when You live in Europe).

PS. I really don't like the new politcs of publishing form FFG. They announce games give them release date and then move those release dates the way it suits them. As good they could just make an announcment of a game ant then give it the release date 2012 or 2013 that would be more honest. And the way the upcomming section is treated looks like they don't care about fans and players. Now there are tons of games that are not updated. The PR and customers support form begginning of this year is going really fast down. Thay should do something about it.

My gaming season starts in June and ends in Middle of August. Release date of Descent 2E is torturing my soul. I deeply hope in late June release date. Otherwise there is little reason to buy this game this year

Well, I don't think that is going to work, so we probably won't see the game until the middle or late July. Kudos to you FFG for making us pre-order the game four months before the game comes out. When did early 2012 mean July?
