Certain Traits/ Keywords

By Daenarys, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Hi all, I have been playing the gaem with rule book and FAQ at hand. These in conjunction with this forum have been useful to resolve areas of ambiguity however i have a question to do with specific traits/ keywords such as BOON or DRAGON

Is there an area on this site or elsewhere where it specifically details the benefits/ usage for words/ traits that were not originally in the core game but have evolved ? I guess i am after another FAQ or similar where it lists all the potential keywords/ traits that exist across all the cards. I realise there are database searches which are useful but only if you know what you are looking for .

hope this makes sense

thanks

Keywords, like "Vigilant" "Vengeful" "Stealth" "Deadly" "Renown", are well detailed in the core rulebook. The only additional keywords are "Melee" and "Joust", and are explained in a rules-handout present in every chapter pack with cards that have either keyword.

Traits, however, have no rules associated with them whatsoever. There is no actual rule about "Boon" or "Condition" attachments, "Direwolf" cards, "Dragons" or "King's Landing", "Military Battle" plots, except on cards themselves. For instance, Maester Cressen can only discard "condition" attachments from play, the Wolfswood gives "Direwolves" stealth, the Horn of Dragons can steal "Dragons", and "To be a Wolf" can only be played if you have a "Military Battle" plot in your used pile.

If you want to find a list of cards that interact with another, your best bet is to search a database (like agotcards, cardgamedb) for the trait itself.

Perfect, i understand now, much of the amiguity has occurred because i only have a limited number of cards and therefore have not seen or experienced the cards which then bring these into effect.

Fully understand now

thanks

As an aside, the best way to differentiate between the two is by text. Keywords are in plain text, usually appearing at the top of the text portion. Traits are in bold, italic text, whether belonging to the card or included in the card's text as part of its interaction. An individual card's traits appear just under the picture.
