ok, so, i've been trying to figure out a way to allow me and a firend to assemble our own forces and then duke it out on a semi-random board with terrain we place ourselves to our own advantage. i'm thinkin for the terrain we'll take the number of tile's we're using divided by 3 and that's how many single hex terrain pieces you can place, but that's as far as i got, what about the 2/3 drop pieces? we've only got the base game, and we just started 2 days ago, but we'd really like to try and do this, so any ideas would be appreciated, thanks
my brain is fried thinkin bout this
Why not have one person build the map, then the other person decide which side he'd like to take. The person building the map must make both sides of the map relatively equitable or risk ending up with the poorer position.
that's a really good idea! thanks!

A simple but very nice solution. Far easier then dicing for the contents of quadrants and so on...
