Inspired by that other thread

By Einlanzer80, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

I decided to compile a succinct list of house-rules for other people to pick apart. I think I've done this once or twice before, but it's been a while. Tell me what you guys think. Some of them I'm more on the fence about than others.

Investigators
Mandy Thompson – Research die rerolls are limited to the number of players.
Patrice Hathaway – Can only use Inspiring on investigators in her neighborhood.
Daisy Walker – Iron Will can only take effect once per turn.
Sister Mary – If she rolls a 1 for her Blessing during Upkeep, she can immediately roll another die. On a success, she does not lose it. She can use clue tokens to reroll the second die.
Kate Winthrop – Her Flux Stabilizer also gives her +1 to all checks made to close gates.

Spells
Dread Curse of Azathoth – Grants +10 combat check instead of +9 (I feel it should be slightly stronger than Shriveling + Wither).
Fist of Yog-Sothoth – Cast and exhaust during upkeep, in effect for the full turn. (terrible spell by RAW, it makes more sense as a magical "weapon")
Spectral Razor – Same as above.
Azure Flame – Costs 1 sanity to cast, reduces maximum sanity by 1 while exhausted (don't gain it back when refreshed).
Other – Any spell that says “cast and discard” is instead “cast and exhaust”, it can only be refreshed at the Magic Shop (see below).

Other
Stamina – May be sacrificed during the movement phase. Each point sacrificed (maximum of 2) grants either 1 extra movement point or 2 extra dice for a combat check.
Magic Shop - Draw 3 cards instead of 2, purchase reagents ($3) to refresh a "cast and discard" spell.

Interesting note, there is a costy one handed revolver in the Black Goat of the Woods expanision, which exhausted on use but grants combat check bonus until the end of the combat and requires 1$ to refresh.

Other exhausted on use combat items give only 1-combat round check bonus.

Or am I wrong?

That's correct, but most weapons don't exhaust at all. I'm curious what you're getting at.
