Titles and Redirecting Challenges

By Marshal Lambert, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Lovin the melee at the moment. Couple of questions as a result

1/ The Title that gives you +3 Power and redirect. I presume this applies to any challenge, so includes redirecting against yourself?

2/ Can you redirect a challenge with the above title then another player redirect the same challenge with the Kingsguard Title (and vice versa)

3/ There's a plot that says you have to play 2 Gold to a player to initiate a challenge against a player. If you do this then it gets redirected by a title then what happens? Gold given to new target instead/in addition? Redirected before gold paid? Redirected after gold paid?

4/ You have the kingsguard title and a player attacks you for military. Can you use the ability to "redirect" it to yourself to try to win the extra power?

I might be wrong, but here's how I think it works:

1/ You can redirect any challenge initiated just after the defending player and the attacking characters are declared. You do not choose the new defending player, the attacking player does (complying with all applicable restrictions - titles, plot effects and so on). You can redirect a challenge initiated against any player by any other player (including one you initiated yourself, though it would be a waste).

2/ The redirection from the Lord Commander title happens after the declaration of defenders (and no defenders are present - either declared or jumped in), so it must happen after the redirection from the Crown Regent title.

3/ You have to pay up front to initiate the challenge. It can only be redirected after that point (the challenge doesn't exist if you haven't paid). When it is redirected, it's not initiated again, so you don't have to pay again.

4/ The coreset rules state "When an opponent is attacked by another opponent", so you cannot.
