The Wall

By Skowza, in 4. AGoT Deck Construction

I'm trying to build a NW deck to thematically counter a Wildling deck that has been stomping out meta. How many copies of The Wall (RotO) should I be using, 2 or 3? I haven't even figured out a House yet (probably Lanni or GJ) but I have never tried a NW deck so I'm hoping someone with more experience in this decktype can help me out.

Also, I gotta ***** about The Wall not having "no attachments" - couldn't it have been "no attachments except Wildling" with a Wildling keyword added to Climbing Spikes? I mean, really, The Wall can be Frozen Solid and then it doesn't work...? preocupado.gif

You definitely want 3, I think. Mine is built out of Lanni, at least partially because Dolorous Edd is silly when you have Tommen, GTMs and Caches all in your deck. And yeah, thematically the fact that it's countered by Frozen Solid is a bit annoying ;)

Yea, that was kind of the plan if I go Lanni... sort of a NW Clownboat-like build. Having real trouble cutting it down to right now 60 though. Suppose I could toss out the 3x Summer Tax, but I always figure they are always useful free cards anyway unless you've hit your draw cap.

I run one out of Stark, and its a fun deck to play (frozen moat, frozen outpost, mole town brothel all tie in thematically). You wil have a hard time winning outside of slowly getting renown/dominance. I use valar and wildfire in it to contorl their board (since my chars jump back to my hand) and Valar D to get them to either attack me or have their chars die (then i counter attack but they are knelt). Its really good fun, but if you lose The Wall (just like in the books) your done for.
