One Missing Ability

By Séamus Mór, in Talisman

There is one ability that a Magic Object or Follower could have that I've never seen, even though it's very obvious - attacking other characters in Psychic Combat.

Am I right that there's never been an object or follower with this ability? Can anyone think of any others?

Well, perhaps something that stops you from using/gaining spells (until you give the "cursed wand" to the mystic).

I think that's because, when you think about it, most cards amplify what a character can already do. There are few if any that allow the addition of a completely new ability... and not sure there should be. Some Followers have something akin to an ability, but its usually theirs and not the characters, though they can put to the service of the character. I think that's something of the minor difference between the character gaining an abiltiy and the player gaining another option for using the character. Just a thought.

I actually already suggested to FFG that a Magic Object should give a character the ability to fight using psychic combat during the design process. It came back that it would probably be included in a future expansion!

I would hope that such an object would have the status of a Relic, Artefact or similar. :)

It is probably more likely it will become some sort of Head gear.... Mindblowing helmet, Amplifiying shroud, Thinkers cap, or something like that.. but it would be nice no matter what it is.

Tantalising! Thanks for that.
