Would someone(s) who's got it kindly describe what's in it? What's kool, what's nasty & what's worse?
Thanks!

It's now available in PDF format here as well.
Gah! Im the perfect consumer. I will buy this from my local store when it comes in but I wants it now, so . . . I bought it. Maybe I should go buy an iPad so I can always have it around rather than lugging my laptop . . .
not in the least trying to sound rude, what's the difference in lugging a laptop around vs an Ipad? slightly smaller object but theyre both electronic and both something expensive enough you'd probably cry if it got broke ( i know i would)....Ive not had any problems with laptop lugging. but It is nice to have the pdfs on one thing and have access to them all I agree.
I do admit its really convenient to get the softcopy. It really takes a lot of weight off your back! The weight of let's say.. 5 pdfs - core book, tEP, RoB, MotX, AA, FF versus the weight of 5 hard cover books. Plus, no risk of paper cuts (that being said I had cut my finger on my Core Book!) Now that is a big difference!
Aside, I prefer to have hardcopies of books. Makes referring to materials very quick!

Depends on the size of the laptop. And even at a gaming table an iPad will take up less space. My friend GM'd off one for Shadowrun this week. Worked great especially with nontactical maps and player handouts.

Hmm... Actually my GM has Two hard copies Core and MoTX and two soft copies - RoB and FF. He's currently using an ASUS Slider Transformer (Android) to view the soft copies and they take a long time to load.
The internal processor takes about 45 seconds to load a page. Plus FFG RPG books are graphic intensive with a picture/ map on every other page (I'm not saying that's bad, its very good, I like the art work) so it really takes the processor a longer time to display the page.
We pretty much ended up referring to my hard cover books (Thankfully I had purchased RoB and FF).
i love collecting the hard covers, they look great and make a nice collection. Plus i like more info (more chapters and info on jericho reach's planets) gives me plenty of idea's for campaigan building. I hope they later make something more on dark eldars and necrons , such as stats, story line and even some adventures.
Yeah I'd love to see new character Necron Lords and Crypteks based off of the new Necron fluff from the tabletop.
Although Necrons appearing in large numbers mean the Crusade is basically screwed...unless the 'crons go after the nids wholesale.
I love having hard copies, mostly because I feel all cool flipping through my sticky-noted tomes of ye game rules.

While I can't comment on anyone elses setup I use an Ipad to GM and refrence books off of although i have hard copies to pass out. It works great, I use a program called good reader to load and organize PDF's and it's smooth and quickl. I think your friend might have a bad tablet for what he's trying to do.
*I am not an Igeek, but it did what I needed to do and at the time android tablets wern't out. Plus as much as I dislike apple they seem to have the best tablet on the market right now.
I use my 15" Laptop, with the actual hard copy books next to me, So I take notes and keep all the NPCs and Enemies stats on a spreadsheet infront of me, and the rules are all in the books as well as the GMs dice screen. Then I have a dice roller on my phone I use to roll dice as its a little quicker than me actually rolling dice when i need to.
