So, people here talk a lot about having Orks in the crew, or using their tech. Can one have an Eldar, just as easily? I had a vague idea of an Eldar Seneshal (or something like it; some secret-keeper/spymaster who is knowledgeable about stuff they haven't seen yet, at least historically, or in theory, who could help them through some certain kinds of ruins) who works with the crew/Dynasty, traveling to various sites, helping them in exchange for getting to keep certain Eldar relics, and a chance to analyze booty before it is sold. in his own ways, he could be invaluable, and possibly a decent fighter, when need be, as all Eldar have at least Unnatural Agility. Anyone willing to put up with an Ork should hopefully be more than happy to interact with a much more sophisticated Eldar (if he can keep from talking down to them). Any suggestions on the build? The likelyhood?
An Eldar Character
Eldar in RT crew. That sounds corruptive, chaos corruptive. But the idea itself is rather tempting, but difficult. The way the Eldar ended up on "Imperial" vessel should be convincing and realistic. But it is quite tempting. And according to the internet and demotivators "ELDAR: everything you can do, they can do better". I suggest that all skills they posess get automatic +5bonus. Unnatural Speed and Unnatural Agility. And he traets all can use all Eldar Exotic weapons without penalties just as if he was using Weapon training of imperium.

I agree, but at the same time, what about having an Ork, or more than one, would be less that than an Eldar? This isn't me being challenging; I'm just curious where someone, in game or out, draws a line. There are several instances of the Eldar aiding the Imperium, mysteriously, and for their own ends, while Orks are always rambunctious, challenging, and maybe dumb; they never seem to want to help, but rather test their strength against an additionla threat, because why not, they're Orks? It should seem an equally difficult sell to let one of them aboard ship, and Eldar upgrades, if you could persuade your Eldar crewmate to share a bit of his technical know how, should seem a bit less likely to blow up (fluff-talking). If you agree that Eldar-specific stuff goes to him, and that you'll show due respect to their ruins, he could be very helpful in keeping dealings between the crew and other Eldar cool, and could share knowledge about many things not Eldar, like ruins of other races his long-lived people have visited. If it's a good opportunity to travel (Way of the Outcast), and collect spirit stones (they let him keep them, and he can return them to his craftworld), it shouldn't be a tough stretch to persuade one Eldar to travel with the crew.
For such a character, would Seneshal be an appropriate class? Is it a good class? I am looking for a secret-keeping, sneaky character, one who might be able to be useful to the crew, and make use of the Eldar's preternatural agility, trying to avoid their hereditary glass cannonry. Also the only time I've ever thought of playing an Eldar in anything who isn't a Seer. Still, a mysterious, trap-disarming, Indyelfy Jones, but who is truly loyal to the crew, so long as they retain his trust, as it is, appeals to me, and if the crew avoids Imperial space, the Inquisition isn't too likely to get involved (not anymore so than if a Greenskin was aboard).
If you were going to use the Seneschal as your career path, I would go with Unnatrual Agility, Heightened Senses(Sight,Hearing, Smell) Speak Langugue Low Gothic and Eldar. Exotic weapon training in the more basic Eldar weapons I.E shuriken weapons. Stats starting at 25 across before die roll. A few Lore skills and this seems to be a good starting point.
Agility and Willpower (maybe) start at 30, Strength and Toughness 20 IMHO. I'd want to dissect a Kroot and an Ork before I would commit to a specific setup, see how they go together for game balance. An Eldar would have some serious potential, I think. It's just the issue of trying to do them justice without making them unfair compared to the rest of the PCs. Or you could just say balance be damned and run an Outcast or Pirate crew. That might be interesting.
The thought as I would have it go, the Eldar "ruins acquisition" expert would work, more or less, as follows:

History:
Kaevas is a member of the Eldar race, and hails from the Kaelor Craftworld. In the wake of events that have gripped the Eldar of late, most notably the near loss of Craftworld Iyanden, Kaevas has decided to follow the Path of the Outcast, and travel the galaxy. Where he differs, however, is in his mode of travel. Kaevas is not some traveling Ranger, stealthing about the dark places of the universe, but more like a corsair, traveling openly aboard a ship, seeking relics of bygone days. In his travels, he has made himself of use to a Rogue Trader, and actually joined the crew. Traveling with Humans is a strain, to say the least, but Kaevas is willing to look past their various shortcomings; they are of use to him, and he to them, and with their help, he can retrieve objects he would otherwise be unable to acquire, and make a tidy profit off of it, when the chance appears. He has one simple rule for his employers/allies; Eldar relics are his, and his alone, no questions, and they cannot be sold under any circumstances. So long as this simple rule is followed, he will do as asked to assist his crew in their accumulation of wealth, power, and fame.
Personality:
Kaevas is a quiet individual, often seeming sullen and moody. While he is willing to help his crew mates, he is often quick to act as if he does not want to make friends. This isn’t to say such a thing isn’t possible; anyone who honestly assists him in retrieving something Eldar is on the right path, and he does like to sit and talk, while sipping Eldar wine, talking of lost places, and near-fatal escapes. He doesn’t brag though, and frowns on those who do; it’s the getting out with the relic, and why you did that he cares about, not what you had to get through to do it.
Kaevas keeps to his isolation, tinkering with objects, and cataloging finds. For things not of Eldar origin, he enjoys appraising them, trying to find the best market, for him, and the crew. Things made by the Eldar, however, he won’t sell, or allow the sale thereof, and he hoards such things in his quarters, until such time as he can forward them on to his craftworld.
Appearance:
Kaevas is an Eldar, and as such an amazing specimen among Humans, though rather typical to his own people. He is slightly under 2 meters in height, has pale, smooth skin, tall, pointed ears, a full head of long, reddish-orange hair, often pulled back in a ponytail, and almond-shaped eyes with an emerald tint. He is approaching middle-age for an Eldar, pushing into the later half of his sixth century, though Humans would be hard-pressed to gauge his age, and he has the Human equivalent appearance of being in his early 30’s, at best. He wears clothes of Eldar make; fine specimens of their craft with even simple garments, though nothing too ostentatious.
Purpose: Kaevas is an Eldar character aboard a Rogue Trader vessel. He can smooth relations with the Eldar, should his crew encounter them, and is familiar with numerous other races among the Expanse. He is also technically-gifted, and practically a savant when it comes to exploring ruins. In many ways, he's like your average Eldar corsair, except instead of raiding Traders' ships, and Imperial colonies, he travels with the Trader, and helps get past defenses. Very much an "Indyelfy" Jones character, or at least that was the intent.
There may certainly be little oopses, and a typo or two, but the overall idea is here. He might also be a bit high for a Rank 1 character, and could be toned down a titch, if needed. Otherwise, I like how it looks, for a quick scratch-build (starting Seneschal + some Eldar bits), anyway. Any thoughts/critiques are of course welcome.
I can say only good job. Interesting and mostly realistic approach(climb, Underworld?). The overall is good but he would need new scratch build rank advances. And since he is Eldar born amongst stars, then --> void accustomed, and change some of the skills he has on other coresponding to his past(come one his 600 he can't have 5000xp) maybe CL - Rogue Traders; Koronus Expanse, Drive(Skimmer/Hover other are too crude to use by Eldar), Pilot(Personal, flyers, spacecraft) SL - Astomancy; Cryptology, Silent Move, More Trade - Astrographer; Linguist; Voidfarer. Try to think off something personal like -> Performer_Attract Attention (nobility circles). And one greate perk the characteristic advance Eldars could buy not 4 but 5 times yes I know it's big but since they live so long they will perfect themself in every posible aspect.
Also grate pesonay history. Really good work, keep up the good job. It's hard not to create over the top character of alien origin.
Nice story. I'm not really sold on him having such lousy Toughness - while not really stronger or tougher than humans, Eldar seem to be pretty hale for their skinny looks.
In general, I think there is a place for an Eldar Corsair career in RT. Corsairs seem quite similar to Rogue Traders in priorities and outlook, so an alliance of convenience is a definite possibility. Plus, corsairs are thrill-seekers, so at least some of them should be up for the unique experience of allying with the Mon-Keigh.
There could also be a place for a Dark Eldar character in a RT crew, though that'd be much more problematic. For one thing, having a psychic vampire who feeds on the suffering of sentient life should have a heavy impact on the morale, beyond the usual "oh noes a Xeno on board". Then, there's the matter of trust, and if a Dark Eldar can be trusted in anything, it's that he'll try to screw everyone over the second he sees an opportunity. But once you get past all the screams coming from his chambers and manage to force a semi-stable working relationship, he'd be a very powerful ally with horrifying combat experience and a mind for intrigue that makes the Malfian nobility look like sloppy hobos stabbing themselves with shivs. Access to the occult resources of Commoragh is nothing to balk at, either, even if it'd be rather unreliable. The roleplaying would be interesting, I think, though certainly not for everyone. And, though I hope it wouldn't be much of a problem with RT fans, there is always a possibility of someone coming up with a dreaded Drizzt Clone, so that's yet another thing to be wary of
I really hope to see an official Eldar career in RT someday. Cool as the Orks and Kroot are, the lack of a playable Eldar in Into the Storm was a big downer for me.
I built an Eldar corsair for a pbp game using the info on this site:
Seems pretty OK. It allows a Dark Eldar as a background but then goes on to talk about Soul Stones, which DE don't use. And the rules for Corruption and Insanity seem pretty rushed. But as a baseline, it's pretty solid.
