Dust Tactics Terrain Tile Set
I finally received my copy of the Terrain Tile set. Tiles are exactly what I expected, very happy with them. It is the Operation Blue Thunder scenario book that I think is REALLY worth the purchase. I’ve noticed the following in the Scenario book:
The scenario book is written in six languages, which I understand why (cost savings). At first I was not that happy with it, but then after using the book, it really doesn’t bother me.
The scenario book comes with the original 8 scenarios, plus three bonus scenarios, which really look great. The original scenarios have been tweaked for example:
Scenario 1 Reconnaissance – 2x 2 squads and 1x 3 armor walker. (Instead of 4 armor walker) It also states like the original scenario that you don’t use the normal victory points, the winner is the side that destroys the other side first, but it comes with an 8 turn - time limit, which was not part of the first scenario.
Scenario 4 Counterattack – Defender starts with 100AP, then on round 4 you receive 30AP + whatever remaining AP from the first round. This is then continued each round. So if you used 80 out of 100AP on the first round, then on round 4 you could use 50AP. If you used 45AP then on Round 5 you could use 35AP. This is helpful because the other day, the defenders were really at a disadvantage when we played this scenario.
The book also states the following:
“There are two types of terrain tiles: snow and warehouse. There is no gameplay difference between a snow tile and a warehouse tile, so players can use any combination of terrain tiles they like.”
It should also be noted that the book also includes a new scenario that uses: warehouse tiles, snow tiles and building tiles, therefore I now think artillery units are allowed to fire from “warehouse” tiles, just not building tiles.
So, overall I am very happy with this purchase and can't wait to play the new scenarios.
