Brig Questions

By Magique, in Battlestar Galactica

Hey all,

I just have some quick questions about the brig that I can't seem to find the answers for:

1. What exactly are you limited to doing in the brig? Can you play skill cards, lauch a nuke, draw Quarum cards, etc? I know you can only add one skill card to skill checks, and you can't move, but are there any other restrictions?

2. Does the President and/or Admiral lose their title when they get sent to the brig? I don't think so, but just clarifying...

3. If the player in the brig decides to try to get out of it, is he the only person who can add a skill card to the skill check, or can anyone add skill cards to it as well? Does this apply as well to the Administrations and Admiral's Quarters skill checks?

Thanks in advance... I have a feeling that my group is underestimating the power of the brig.

1. Yeah, you just can't add more than one skill card to each skill check, and can't move. Other stuff you can do normally though.

2. The President does not lose her title by going to the brig, but the Admiral does. The Admiral card goes to the highest person in the line of succession who is not in the brig.

3. No, anyone can add cards just like a normal skill check (same with the other locations you mentioned). This is where the brig can be brutal, because since you can only add one card to the skill check still, so if the others want to keep you in there, they will probably succeed.

Yeah, the brig is a very powerful location, as it can stop a lot of the bad stuff a shady person is doing. Yes, the President can still draw/play quorum cards, but if you brig a President you can then go vote the Title away from them. The brig is also good, because if someone really is a cylon, their 'You are a Cylon' card ability won't go off when they reveal.

Perfect, answered all my questions. I guess we have been treating the brig differently, but now it makes a lot more sense with everything you explained.

Thanks!

No prob, you're welcome. :)

On the restrictions side, remember that you don't draw a crisiis card and therefore don't activate cylon ships or perform a jump prep. This can be good or bad depending on whether you are a cylon or not, and what is missed.
