Dice sides

By Ileopsoas, in WFRP Rules Questions

Hello to everyone!

I'm new to WFRP and I just bought the player, GM and monster guides...because I tought the structure was similar to D&D...

I really like the mechanic of this game, and I wuold like to try it in the lite version...but I can't understand how the dice side are distribuited...someone can help me telling me how dice are strutctured?

No that is written on the player's guide too, I mean if someone can tell me the side of each die

-for example- charateristic die: one bones, two hammer, two blank side...etc...

Is it clear?

I've seen this a couple places online, but can't seem to find it now. I think it is upon U-Head's sheet?

Buy a set and play with them, then you have it. Simulating those is difficult and would disturb the game.

If I buy only a dice pack it wouldn't be enough, that would be useful only to know how dice are made, that's because I'm here asking here for help.

If FFG intendend a Lite version they should have explained that on the manuals, and since I can't find it I' not buying a core set only for that (dice are not included in vaults)!

you should buy these from an online retailer then

javascript:void(0);/*1321993430229*/

trying to convert the dice to regular dice would make dice pool construction and resolution an aweful experience

I know that's the point:out of stock...

Dice are actually included in the GM's Vault .

The back of the manuals does in fact explain you need other items. Flipping over my Player's Guide it mentions the Players Vault having the items to "complement this book" (I imagine the GM's Guide which I don't own mentions the GM's Vault that has dice). The back of the Player's Guide also has text that explains the book may be used, "in a more traditional way with just the books and dice ". So it does mention you need the vaults or just the dice if you want a traditional-without-goodies game.

Did you assume the text on the back meant D&D style dice? I suppose they could have stated, "and Warhammer custom dice".

The "Lite" version makes it quite similar to D&D in materials needed, as you seemed to have agreed with above (same number of core books). If you bought the core D&D books you still need a custom set of dice, just like WFRP3e. Warhammer's dice, that are not so common as D&D's, will cost you around $10+ online including shipping (I see several at Amazon) if you can't find a set in your FLGS for less. I suppose if you have an Ipad/Iphone you could buy the WFRP Toolkit to roll your dice for you. That's also mentioned on the back of the Player's Guide (and I assume GM's Guide ).

Thank you so much! I think I'll go on the GM's vault...

I belive that dvang posted an online dice roller that can save you the money.

Alternatively, with all the probability, you can find on the internet something may be like WFRP_dice_pool_tool_kit_v1 that you can download.

Cheers

If you have access to the internet, you can look in my signature for an online dice roller as well.
