Order of Discard

By Incuus, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

Situation from a game I had last night. I was playing Martell, my opponent Lanni Clansmen. After marshalling phase, my opponent's Timett has two dupes as well as an Ill-Begotten Spoils attached to him. I then use Game of Cyvasse come challenges phase to bounce Timett back to my opponent's hand. Here are my questions:

1) Am I correct in assuming that Timett's dupes as well as Ill-Begotten Spoils go to the discard pile? I'm pretty sure I'm right about this, but it never hurts to check.

2) Given that three things went to the discard pile at the same time, how is decided which is on top? My opponent intended to play Regroup as his next plot card, but we couldn't decide which of the three discarded cards were on top. Is it up to the player who had to discard them? Is it determined by the order in which the attachments were placed (i.e. I played Ill-Begotten Spoils after the two dupes, so that is the top card)?

Thanks for any help, it is much appreciated.

1) Your opponent can use a dupe to save Timett from going back to hand.

2) Whenever more than one card is put in the discard/dead pile, the owner decides the order.

1) Unless I'm forgetting something, one of Timmett's dupes can be used to save him from going back to the hand. But yes, the dupes and the attachment are discard pile bound.

2) The cards' owner gets to decide which order to put cards in when multiple ones hit the discard or dead piles at the same time. So if he wants to Regroup one of those dupes back, he can put a Timmett at the top of the pile. Once the decision has been made and the cards are in the proper pile, the order cannot be changed though.

Edit: Ratatoskr got in before me I see.

Really? Now things like Ghaston Grey and Game of Cyvasse don't seem as powerful. Thanks for the info.

I don't see why if you save Timmet with one dupe, the atachment he has and the other dupe are discard pile bound. If you save Timmet with one dupe he never get "discard" or come back yo to your hand, so the attachment anmd the othe dupe can continue in game with timmet.

I assume what was meant was "if Timett is bound to his owner's hand (or anywhere out of play, for that matter), the attachmebts are bound to the discard". If Timmet was under a "cannot be saved" effect, then the dupes would be discarded with the attachments.

The point is that the original poster did not realize dupes could save a character from being returned to hand. There was no save contemplated in the original question.
