Book of Judgement background question

By zorcon, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

There is a new background package in the BoJ called Proven Innocent. I really like the package (both fluff and bonuses) and my GM has allowed me to retcon this package mid-campaign. I have the Mind Cleansed Origin, so this has been explained as a new memory.

However, my GM and I are in a disagreement as to how to apply one of the efffects of the background package--The character would believe the Holy Orders are infallable.

I get that I would no longer question the actions of my superiors. But would this package prevent me from following a radical path (Xanthite specifically)? If the Holy Orders are infallable, and there are Xanthites in the Holy Orders, wouldn't the Xanthites be infallable too?

In full disclosure, my character is a psyker, and I eventually want to dabble in sorcery, mainly for the bonus psy level (knowing thy enemy makes you stronger). I do not intend summon daemons or make pacts. Here is the rub--Would taking Proven Innocent prevent me from taking the Tainted Psyker alternate rank and the Sorcery talent?

I would say ni, but getting caught does warrent a swift execution

My GM ruled that if my Inquisitor was a radical, or amenable to them, that I could take Proven Innocent. But since my Inquz is a mainline puratin, taking that background package, would align my views with his, and thus I would no longer want to take a radical path.
