Question about Fortune Points

By Bra'Kan, in WFRP Rules Questions

I think there is something I'm missing here but from what I understand, this is how it works:

1) Every player starts with 3 fortune points.

2) When there are as many fortune points in the fortune pool as there are players, fortune refreshes and everyone gets a fortune point.

Here's what I don't get: "Each fortune point spent adds one fortune die to the pool. Spent fortune points are returned to the general supply" (Page 76 player's Guide)

When they say "to the pool", do they mean the Fortune Pool on the party card? Or the pack of dice already prepared?

And when they talk about "general supply" - what are they referring to here? Is it the same Fortune pool on the party sheet?

I'm confused... please help!

"Each fortune point spent adds one fortune die to the pool."

Each point spent adds a fortune die to an existing die pool. So if you are putting a pool together to attack someone (for example), then spend 1 or more fortune points to add 1 or more fortune dice to that pool. It's not the only way to get fortune dice in a pool, but it's one of the few ways that the player has direct control of.

"Spent fortune points are returned to the general supply"

The "General Supply" is the pile of unused tokens. You basically discard them.

Ahhhhhhhhhh - now I get it! Thanks!
