chapter differencies

By Gantz the slaughterer, in Deathwatch

I want to start to better differentiate the chapters backgroundsskill alents...

I know better the space wolf chapter, so i decided to give free to my space wolf:

1) pilot personal (all space marine was first a blood claw, then a grey hunter and at last a long fang....the blood claw was trained in the use of the jump pack...so i give free)

2) survival (fenris was an harsh world, and fenrisian live like barbarian, viking, islander...etc...)

3) resistance cold (fenris was an ice word)

if the player like, i give free also a chainsword.

I want also to create stat for many of the beatiful axe they produce.

I don't know very well the other chapters...suggestion?

(ho, sorry for my english)

According to the 40k-Lexicanum Blood Claws normally don“t use junp packs. On the other side each Space Marine of a Codex Chapter served as a assault marine before he is sent to the Deathwatch, so maybe they should get Pilot(personal). Pilot(personal) is still available at Rank 1 for every Astartes according to Errata.

Survival: Most of the chapters recruite from worlds with harsh enviroment (hot, cold, polluted), at the latest as a scout all are on the same level regarding survival.

Resistence (cold) seems good, but then every other chapter shall get a resistence to apt to their homeworld.

A chainsword for free? This seems as a big bonus. In our group everybody uses a chainsword for the "balance" quality at the lower ranks.

For axes: add 2 damage, 1 penetration and unbalanced to a cermonial sword (thats the difference between power axe und power sword)

There really are a lot of problems with how Deathwatch handles the Marines.

Never mind Space Wolves progression. In Codex Chapters everyone goes from Scout to Devastator to Assault (Or was it Assault to Dev?) to Tactical. While it is certainly possible anyone from Scout on up could be seconded to the DEathwatch (Admittedly, a Scout should have all their implants finished!). It is most likely to be a Tactical Marine who is trained in all the specialties. Sure each Marine finds certain specialties their focus - one good with Heavy Weapons probably ends up either being the Heavy in their Tac Squad, or ends up a Sarge back in the Devastators, or even just doesn't accept promotion to tacticals.

But the point being, starting DW characters aren't even close to as skilled as a typical Marine who has made it to Deathwatch SHOULD be. Silly level based game balance constraints!

Fenris isn't just ice there is also scorching heat to be experienced on that planet, iirc.
