Ok, so I'll be attending Stahleck, but for professional reasons I'll only arrive at Frankfurt-Hahn' airport next Friday, around 1h30 pm. Seeing as I'll be traveling alone and the Taxi fee to the castle will be around 70 euros, I'd like to try and save a load of money.

So, any groups or persons arriving in that time frame at that airport? Are you willing to split the travel expense with me?

Our small finnish delegation will be arriving at Frankfurt a bit earlier, but sadly without the all important '-Hahn'-part. Although Ratatoskr's description makes the place seem a whole lot more interesting than what I remember from last year...

That's why I go to "...-Hahn". It adds a whole new flair to the... place(?).

Actually, I'm considering getting the train to Frankfurt, if there is one (can anyone confirm me if there is a train connection from Frankfurt-Hahn to anywhere else? For some reason I can't open the site given at eaglecard to search for the train connections), and from there going to Bacharach. If there isn't one... hummm, maybe I'll hitch-hike?

Seriously, though, there are no trains. If you arrive at 1.30 and want to make it to Bacharach on time for the Melee, a taxi is your only option.

If you don't plan to play in the melee, you can take the bus to Simmern at 1.50 pm (arrives at 2.31), then catch the train to Bingen at 2.38 pm (arrives at 3.40), then change trains to Bacharach at 4.15, where you'll arrive at half past four. Add one hour to that if you miss the train at Simmern. That trip will cost you € 12,- for the bus plus € 10,50 for the two trains.

You could also take a bus to Mainz, but it won't gain you anything. Going to Frankfurt is not worth it at all. If you want to use public transportation, the route above is the way to go. Or you just take the bus to Simmern and a taxi from there. That's probably how I would do it, it might be a good compromise between money and time, and might get you there in time for the melee (barely). If you want to do it this way, you should probably reserve a cab in Simmern. I can help you with that if you want. Just say so here.

A part of the Italian crew will arrive at -Hahn too, but around 9.15 AM (from Bergamo), it may be worth posting on the boards though, I know there are people fying in from other airports (Rome for sure), they may be arriving around your time.

Italian crew willa rrive splitted in 3 factions. 1 by car, one another (from rome) arrive at main Frankfurt airport (so no Ryaniar one). The other (mine) will arrive at Hahn airport but on the morning 9am so too much earlier to have a connection with your plan :-(

I will go with my car from munich, I have 3 places so can take 3 people from Frankfurt aierport to share drive cost. I will be around 17:00 in Frankfurt to be on time for Draft Tournament. Let me know who will be interested berto[at]decktech.eu.

Anyone along my route to Stahleck can join me in two ways as well.

The british crew, that is, erm only two of us..., will arrive at 11 am at Frankfurt main airport. We are going by train from there, but if anybody wants to journey with us to liven it up you are most welcome.
