On Dangerous Ground spoilers

By radiskull, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

One of the prizes that the top 4 people in both Joust and Melee won was an uncut sheet of the On Dangerous Ground chapter pack. I'm working on typing up a spoiler list for the set, but I wasn't sure if posting something like that here would be ok. I'd hate for FFG to regret handing them out. Anyone know if FFG is cool with this, or if I should just make everyone wait until the pack releases?

Perhaps post them in the spoiler section of the forums? They seemed to have no issue with the Star Wars LCG cards being photogrpahed and poste don the internet months ahead of the release. After all it is promoting the game and not hurting sales.

If you are not sure about this then email me a list - I would love to know whats coming next!

(just in case...)

i think FFG don't mind that. the maester cycle were spoiled before they release.

and i will glad to see them if u send them to me! thank you.

In that case, here we go: (Admins, please delete if this post is not ok.) * signifies unique. Icons are abbreviated [M], , and [P]. All non-game text is in italics. Commentary is in braces. I've omitted illustrator info.

Called to Court. Plot. 2/7/1. Intrigue Gambit.

When revealed, each player may put an in-House character of printed cost 3 or lower into play from his or her hand. Each player must choose 1 character he or she controls and return it to its owner's hand, if able.

The First Snow of Winter. Plot. 3/1/1.

When the first challenge is initiated this round, return all characters with printed cost 2 or lower to their owners' hands. Card designed by the 2005 A Game of Thrones World Champion John M. Bruno.

*Jalabhar Xho. Neutral Character. Noble Crest. Lord. 4 cost. 3 STR. M/P.

Renown. If you lose dominance by 4 or more total STR, discard all power on Jalabhar Xho. At the beginning of the dominance phase, if no opponent has won a challenge against you this round, Jalabhar Xho claims 2 power.

Champion's Favour. Neutral Attachment. Item. 1 cost.

Setup. Attached character gains melee. They fought with blunted weapons in a chaos of mud and blood, small troops fighting together and then turning on each other as alliances formed and fractured, until only one man was left standing.

*The Scourge. Martell Location. Dorne. 2 cost.

Any Phase: Kneel The Scourge to choose 1 character. That character loses a [M], an , and a [P] icon until the end of the phase. Response: After a character loses an icon from The Scourge, choose and discard 1 card from your hand to have that character gain that icon until the end of the phase. Any player may trigger this effect.

*Lyanna Stark. Neutral {yes} Character. Noble Crest. Lady. 4 cost. 3 STR. I/P. {One of the Nedliest cards I've seen yet.}

Renown. Non-unique characters get -1 STR while knelt. After Lyanna Stark is killed, stand all Lord characters in play. Those characters gain deadly until the end of the round. "Promise me..."

Maiden of Poisons. Martell Character. Shadow Crest. Bastard. Sand Snake. s1 cost. 3 STR. I/P. {Yay! Another snake!}

House Martell only. Response: After you lose a challenge as the defender, choose a challenge icon. Then each opponent chooses 1 standing character he or she controls with that icon, if able. All chosen characters lose that icon until the end of the phase.

*Sunspear Tourney Grounds. Martell Location. Dorne. 1 cost.

House Martell only. Response: If you have lost a challenge this phase, kneel Sunspear Tourney Grounds to cancel a triggered character ability. (A character ability or the effects of an event triggered instead if you control more unique characters than each opponent.) {Counting up the number of uniques seems to be a prevalent theme in this pack. Also, holy cancels, Batman.}

*Meereen Tourney Grounds. Targaryen Location. The East. 1 cost.

House Targaryen only. Response: After a character is declared as an attacker or defender, kneel Meereen Tourney Grounds to give that character -1 STR until the end of the phase. (-3 STR instead if you control more unique characters than each opponent.)

[endless] Ride Them Down. Event. {This one is SO good, imo.}

House Targaryen only. Challenges: Choose an attacking Dothraki or Knight character. That character gains renown until the end of the challenge. Response: After you win a [P] challenge by 4 or more total STR, return Ride Them Down from your discard pile to your hand.

*Nagga's Hill. Greyjoy Location. Iron Islands. 2 cost.

Response: After you win an unopposed challenge, kneel Nagga's Hill to choose a non-unique, non-event card in the losing player's discard pile. Put that card into play under your control. At the end of the phase, discard that card if it is still in play.

The Iron Price. Greyjoy Attachment. Condition. 1 cost.

Attach to an opponent's House card. If you have more than 1 opponent, after a player wins a [M] challenge against the owner of attached House card, kneel The Iron Price. Then, the winner of the challenge claims 1 power for each character killed for claim.

Fiery Kiss. Event. Shadow Crest. s0 cost.

House Baratheon only. Response: After Fiery Kiss comes out of Shadows, choose 1 non-Army [baratheon] character in your dead pile and put it into play. That character gains vigilant until the end of the phase. At the end of the phase, discard the character if it is still in play.

*Alannys Greyjoy. Greyjoy Character. Lady. Queen. 3 cost. 3 STR. I/P.

House Greyjoy only. Response: Kneel Alannys Greyjoy to cancel an effect triggered by a player with 3 or more non-character cards in his or her discard pile. "Maron? Rodrik, where are you? Theon, my baby, come to Mother."

*Shyra Errol. Baratheon Character. Lady. 2 cost. 3 STR. P.

Response: After a character you control is killed, discard Shyla Errol from play to discard 1 power from the killed character. Then, move the remaining power from that character to another character you control. {I had to look her up: http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Shyra_Errol}

Enemy to the Crown. Baratheon Attachment. Condition. 1 cost.

Attach to an opponent's House card. If you have more than 1 opponent, after a player wins a [P] challenge against the owner of attached House card, kneel Enemy to the Crown. Then, the winner of the challenge stands 1 character for each power moved for claim.

*Myrcella Lannister. Lannister/Martell Character. Noble Crest. Lady. 2 cost. 2 STR. P. {Ghaston Grey makes me sad.}

If you have more than 1 opponent, Myrcella Lannister gains: "Any Phase: Kneel Myrcella Lannister to choose an opponent. Exchange Titles with that player." She had all of her mother's beauty, and none of her nature.

*Lannisport Tourney Grounds. Lannister Location. Westerlands. 2 cost.

House Lannister only. Response: After you win an challenge, kneel Lannisport Tourney Grounds to choose and kneel 1 character. Then, if you control more unique characters than each opponent, discard all power on that character. {Poor, poor, poor Beric Dondarrion. Yikes.}

*Winterfell Practice Yard. Stark Location. The North. 2 cost.

House Stark only. Challenges: Kneel Winterfell Practice Yard to choose 1 character. That character gains melee until the end of the phase. If you control more unique characters than each opponent, it also gains renown until the end of the phase.

*Harrenhal. Stark Location. Riverlands. 3 cost.

House Stark only. Response: After a character is killed, kneel Harrenhal to search the top 3 cards of your deck for 1 card and put it into your hand. Then shuffle the other cards back into your deck. {I like how you don't have to reveal them.}

The art is just all-around good, IMO. Standouts are the Maiden of Poisons, Sunspear Tourney Grounds, Fiery Kiss, and Harrenhal. The First Snow of Winter DOES use the original art; sorry mathlete, it would seem the wights aren't through with you.

Wow, I like a lot of those cards. I like both plots, including the changes to First Snow. I like all the Tourney Grounds everyone is getting. Myrcella's quite cool for more title manipulation, though making Ghaston Grey easier to use is also terrifying. Ride Them Down looks incredible, particularly as I pretty much only play Dothraki decks when I play Targ.

How does a Shadow-crested Sand Snake interact with No Use for Grief; would the event just put it straight into play?

Yes, it would.

This would combo with the new Bob wouldn't it? Since all opponent's must satisfy claim, they are all moving power. It doesn't specifically tie moved power from the losing attached defender, only that defender must lose.

I like the new sub-theme of unique characters and the new plots to strip away smaller characters.

Oh, very nice! That would be a pretty sweet combo.

Edit: I'm dumb, Myrcella kneels for her ability. Not as crazy as I thought. Still very good, and a 2-cost noble is a little scary too.

Neutral Lyanna? That makes me a little sad.

And why is Harrenhal a Stark location? It's in the Riverlands, and as far as I know, it was never held by a Stark or any other Northern house.

She will definitely shake up the way plots are chosen... with the typical coin, laws, hand, regent setup we see... you only need 2 swaps to stay supported by 2 people on their turns... should see more lord commander...

You'd be playing The Inn of course.

It was held by Roose Bolton for a time.

Holy Crap! They reprinted First Snow of Winter! LOL I knew about the reprint and Damon and I discussed the 'redsegn" of the card text. It was very nice of Damon to include me and allow me input. Honestly, I was asked about new art, but I LOVE the original art. Who doesn't love a little Wight-Boarding? :) btw....I personally LOVE the new text. It's such a great offensive AND defensive card. happy.gif

Thanks for posting this, radiskull!
It's great to see another reset like the modified First Snow enter the meta.
Looks like On Dangerous G. is one of those CP I have to get at least x2 of. :P

Right. With Lyanna in the pack my brain was in "legends" mode and totally ignored the "current" time line. Good call.

Ser Barristan will love this card ;)

But WTF were they thinking with icon removal through location (hello maesters now two characters you have lost all icons but feel free to discard two cards to have them as single icons) and 2 cost Noble is crazy - if Ghaston Grey doesn't go into restricted I'll be very suprised.

And neutral Lyanna? Really? She should be Stark or Stark/Baratheon at most Start/Bara/Targ if designer felt cheesy.

Are you sure. I'm more for Targ/Stark if dual house ;)

I like the fact that Lyanna's Neutral. And her ability is both Nedly *and* good. Loving it!

Not only Nedly, but the designer is clearly in the R+L=J camp, reducing strength isn't Stark at all :P. (Shaggydog does it, sure)

Although it occurs to me that maybe the card should dual Stark/Lannister. Roose held it for both Houses and its current Lord has been represented by a Stark/Lanni card.

Who knows, mebbe the Lanni box will have their own version.

Lyanna not being Stark/Targ is stupid. She shouldn't have Bara because she thought Bobbert was a fat pig.

And I feel like stark got the shaft this pack, considering the last thing they need is a 3 cost location that gives melee in a pack that thins down all the characters on the board.

GG is stupid with myrcella.

That is all.

Gotta say, I love Targ's new tourney ground. -1 STR ... -3 much of the time if you build your deck around it (hello Brown Ben, Viserys, and other unique chud)...is going to be a great addition to every Targ deck.

How do you come to the conclusion that Lyanna thought that Robert was a fat pig? There is evidence that she may have liked Rhaegar more, but she never thought negatively of Robert that we know. Also, Robert was quite a strong, fit, attractive person in his youth from what we've seen. He only became out of shape and overweight after the rebellion.

As for the house affiliation, I don't believe that Lyanna was trying to help anyone gain, or hold, the Iron Throne. She had her own agenda and plans, therefore she had no allegiance to anyone but herself giving her the neutral affiliation.
