Endure Flames and Molten Man

By Phi6891, in Dark Heresy Rules Questions

If you have Endure Flames active and then you manifest Molten Man will that stop the Molten Man power from consuming all you weapons and equipment?

Endure Flames

"You can endure the most severe flames, allowing you to
walk unscathed through fire. You are immune to Damage from
fire and Flame weaponry and reduce the Damage inflicted
on you by Plasma or Melta type weapons by half before
reduction for armour and Toughness Bonus. The effects of
this power extend to your clothing and equipment."

Molten Man

"All weapons and equipment you are carrying are
permanently destroyed, as they’re consumed by your
flames."

Also does Molten Man consume your Armour as well, because in the description it says weapons and equipment and I don't know if you consider armour as equipment though plus another part of the power refers you to you still having armour on.

Molten Man

"You are completely immune to all hits from fire and Flame
weapons, and suffer only half Damage (before reduction for
armour and Toughness Bonus) from Plasma, Las, and Melta
weapons."

Well there are two points of view on this. I am inclined to usually go with the first ravages of the rules way. First is that it explicitly states you lose your equipment in one vice the other. Endure flames is a minor power and moltenman is a discipline meaning the intensity of the powers are also different. This is usually how I would read this going from top down philosophy. However, I can see your point and that it states you dont lose your gear and weapons/ equipment is translated to mean anything on your person is destroyed, imagine a small sun halo exploding around much like the human flame from fantastic four. That said also there is argument to lead creedance to your assesment that you are protected by endure flame.

The problem that this makes is that minor powers are easily came by and disciplines arent and being able to unceremonously bypass the true negative of this power is somewhat troublematic. Of course this is more of a game balance reason I state this. Though literal translation is what you stated the first being activated will omit damage to gear and weapons, though this really is a loop-hole that should be fixed in an errata if it hasnt, and I am not where near my books or errate to validate that.

Well I was thinking because they are from the same book that it was suppose to be set up that way because you could be carrying important things and they would go up in smoke. All your cloths, documents of your identification, seals, badges, weapons, vox devices, micro beads, etc. would be destroyed. I guess someone is going to have to carry the important stuff of yours and an extra set of cloths too.

And what about your armour being destroyed? the power mentions weapons and equipment in one part and in another part it talks about reducing damage form certain weapons on you are half before applying toughness and armour, so is it just a typo about the armour part, because if all your stuff burns up so should your armour I would think.

Now I mean when your just using Molten Man by itself, does it destroy your armour.
