A couple questions

By chubtoad69, in Talisman Rules Questions

I was playing as the Assassin and it just came up in a game so... Can you Assassinate with the warhorse in your possesion?

When you assassinate someone or something, since it is still battle, can you then add your craft to your strength to then roll a dice and your opponent does not get to? It doesn't make since to "assassinate" someone while on a "warhorse" but it seems to make sense by reading what the cards actually do "in game".

Also, I came across a few Quest Rewards that had me wondering...

Good Luck Knot, Ironskin Charm, Might of Giants and Chant of Wisdom. They all say "Keep this card. Increase your (craft, strength, etc.) value by 1." What do these cards do? I always played them as essentially "gain 1 craft" but realized that this may be incorrect. The spell Random on a 2 or 3 says you lose Strength/Craft (all but strength and craft values...), this makes me believe that these Quest Rewards would only increase your base number but not actually increase your stats. If that is the case, then are these cards nearly worthless? If you already have 5 craft but your base is 3 and you draw the Chant of Wisdom, Quest Reward, does it only increase your base craft to 4 but your craft is still only 5?!? I'm really confused as to what these cards do now, please help.

Thanks,

The Assassin can use whatever he likes when assassinating. Imagine he tramples over the enemy while on horseback! The ending result always being that the enemy doesn't get to roll a die.

Those quest rewards increase your base "value" by one. So cards, such as the Warhorse, which add your Craft Value take the Quest Reward into account since it increases your base value. But yes essentially it's a an extra stat which can't be taken away from you.

I'm not sure where the confusion on your part is coming from. Your total Craft is a result of you Craft Value (base Craft), plus any counters, plus anything from Objects/Followers. So if your Craft Value was increased by one your total Craft would also be increased by one.
