I was just wondering, if the character with khopesh on only has 1 wound left can you use its ability and kill your character to wound someone elses?

I've got a question about Khopesh. If I attach the Khopesh to a character with invulnerability can I still active the action to wound since I can't wound the character with it? Seems a bit good as I could kill off my opponent's field of characters for no penalty.
