Tommy Muldoon /doubt

By elyeti, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question about a situation we had yesterday:

If Tommy Muldoon is devoured by the Ancient One, is his personal story fulfilled? (meaning: a brand new investigator joins the battle against the Ancient One?)

We could not find a rule that says otherwise, but we found this a bit "cheesy"...

No, he's not.

Wait til Tibs'll come here and says: You also can't fulfill his personal story during the final battle.

I don't see any reason why not. Also, why would passing his Story necessitate that he be replaced with another investigator?

When you say "devoured by the Ancient One" I assume you mean during final combat.

I don't see why Personal Stories would cease at final combat. But, since this is final combat, Tommy will not be replaced when he is devoured.

Also, you cannot gain clue tokens during final combat. This has been leaked (by FFG, mind you!) to a forum-user during one of his rules questions. It just hasn't been officially announced other than that outlet. This of course means that nobody receives the 5 clue tokens: Tommy's devouring is essentially helpful because of the doom removal.

Thank you, I understand it all now. "Choose another investigator" means another investigator gains 5 clue tokens, not taking a new investigator. We are from Spain, and the translation to Spanish of the card is confusing :)

As above :)

OK! No extra 5 clues then.
After all we solved the situation right, and kicked Nyogtha out to the Outer Space. Best board-game ever.

Nyogtha is a tough customer. I'm impressed.
