I honestly can't rememeber but if he/she did it would be great to have them in the game. I played the heck out of that game.

Maarek Stele is in the game: he's a TIE advanced pilot with a skill of 7, and the ability to draw-three-choose-one whenever he deals critical damage.
With the new advanced upgrade via Raider he's actually pretty good. Give him the advanced targeting computer and advanced homing missiles and laugh as you tailor-pick critical hits for your opponent.

Steele has been in the game longer than Fel, he was a wave 1 pilot.

I also love throwing Calculation on him and flying him in a list with the Emperor. Triple crits are just beautiful to behold. Did 7 damage to a YV-666 in a single attack a couple weeks ago by getting a range one shot with a total of 3 criticals. It went from just one shield left to destroyed in that one shot.

Well he did fly the TIE/ad Advanced. The model for the TIE/x1 Advanced however is much more well known to most people as Darth Vader's TIE. To date the TIE/x1 is still unique (as in only one, the peototype, has ever been shown) in the disney canon, but like the Scimitar could become non-unique. FFG's model is possibly a merge of the 2 ships.
Those pre game release speculations of old, very interesting. Good that this guy got his wish right in wave 1 and now with the Raider can even play Maarek unironicaly!

You know one thing i wish they kept in TIE Fighter was the ability to assign wingmen.
I really felt that was one feature that could have evolved from x-wing rather than be removed.
The TIE fighter pilot was named Dink in my games. It's a carry over from the names I used in the various Zelda games.
TIE fighter wingmen would have been awesome...if the AI for them had been improved from X-wing.
