I haven't played with ToI yet but from reading the board go search the words "Feats RtL" and see what happens.
FUBAR Central on the part of FFG.
TOI works great with RtL IMHO.
Feats help gives the players a fighting chance. It helps balance out the tables.
The monsters are a lot of fun also.

This should be read "as long as the heroes don't do anything really stupid they will win"

and I honestly would add "...in Copper." to the end as well.
I feel I should add my two cents: We've started a campaign with the heroes starting with no feats, and getting one per glyph. Personally, I think this is a bit much for the heroes. Instead, I would propose that the heroes get one or two feats any time they take a train action (in addition to their normal skill or trait upgrade purchased) and another one any time they defeat a monster on the bottom dungeon level (in addition to the 4 conquest and 250 gold) I feel this is a fair compromise, given the fact that the heroes' growth in power is supposed to be gradual in RtL compared to the base game.
I also think the free surge and damage as an offhand bonus for starting equipment (the morning star) is a bit much.
I believe that some of the new heroes are particularly vexing as the OL (like Shiver and the 1 conquest valued ghost flying girl) and I think the brute's 5 melee dice are a bit much right out of the gate, since the fewer starting skills is barely noticable in RtL...
On the other hand, we've played one of the two new dungeon levels (the one with the shades and the thorny trees) which is incredibly difficult and frustrating for the heroes... and we've played the rumour, which was challenging but not impossible for the heroes.
All in all? The verdict is still out.
I think TOI works nicely with RTL. I like to use event treachery dark glyphs so I’d like to know if heroes draw feats by activating them but that’s beside the point.
For Dark Glyphs, I wouldn't give it to them.
They're dark and evil, no Feats for the Heroes.

The intent with starting skills in RtL seems to be that heroes start out with 2 fewer skills than in vanilla. Has anyone tried starting "the brute" out with no skills? If so, does that work better?
Would be a simple reintrpetation to have RtL # Starting Skill = # printed skills - 2

I could go with this, but, of course, this would obviously be a house rule!
Just to offer the other point of view on the yeti, he's a brute starting out but not so special by mid-copper onwards when everyone's bought an extra die.
-He never gets to supplement his attacks with fatigue when he finds himself one damage short of a kill.
-He's a 4CT hero with 1 armour.
-His hero ability is barely relevant.
Give me Lord Hawthorne any day.
